Chapter 113 - Chapter 113: Pursuit

The fact that no real damage was caused, of course, was thanks to Ren Asakura's control.

But Kassel College didn't know that, which led to a major misunderstanding.

They mistakenly believed that the King of Earth and Mountains wasn't just a mindless beast of destruction—that he could precisely control his power.

That wasn't a good sign.

After all, a sharpshooter is vastly different from a child who's just picked up a gun.

Caesar stared at the imposing Dragon King displayed on his computer screen and chuckled softly.

"According to past records of battles between hybrids and Dragon Kings, every appearance of a Dragon King has brought unparalleled natural disasters—blazing fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, torrential rain. But this time, he appeared in complete silence. We don't even know how long he's been hiding beneath the Beijing Subway. And that's the most crowded place in the entire city every morning."

Everyone fell silent again.

Their understanding of the dragons was simply far too limited.

At this point in time, almost no one knew that the throne of the Dragon King was occupied by twins.

Angre lightly tapped the table.

"The Dragon King has made his appearance. We need to be ready. From this moment forward, Kassel College is under alert. I believe that dragon will show up again."

On the computer screen, Norma nodded.

Each agent in the Execution Department received new orders.

The next time the Dragon King appeared, they would all move in to strike.

---

Fenrir flew through the sky for some time before finally, under Ren Asakura's instruction, landing at an abandoned, empty factory.

By now, they had flown well outside of Beijing.

The dragon's landing stirred up waves of dust and smoke.

Fortunately, no one was around.

So there was no panic.

"I'm so happy!"

Fenrir waved his massive claws excitedly.

It was his first time going out. His first time leaving home. He saw the blue sky, the white clouds—

And the vast, boundless world.

He could soar freely. Stretch his body as much as he liked.

Fenrir lay down, his tail curling behind him.

His black scales were densely packed and shimmered like obsidian in the sunlight.

One by one, everyone jumped down from the top of Fenrir's head.

Once on the ground, Mai's legs were visibly shaking.

She now understood clearly—Fenrir really was just a three-year-old child.

But that's exactly what made him dangerous.

In Fenrir's eyes, Mai was no more than an ant.

And a child, in their innocence, might break all the ant's legs just to watch it writhe, then tear its body in half.

Human nature at birth is inclined toward cruelty.

Lu Mingfei looked up at the massive Fenrir.

"Guild Master, what do we do next?!"

Ren Asakura showed a devilish grin.

"Food should be eaten one bite at a time, and trouble should be stirred up slowly! For now, you guys should form a contract with him first. Orochimaru should've taught you the summoning technique by now, right? Plus, I remember the Beast-Taming Sect in the cultivation world has similar methods. The Foundation Establishment stage techniques aren't even that expensive in the group shop."

Lu Mingfei opened the group shop.

Indeed, the methods for controlling spirit beasts weren't costly, nor hard to learn. They mainly taught how to use one's spiritual energy to communicate with spirit beasts.

The Summoning Technique came from the Naruto world—it was a space-time ninjutsu that formed a blood contract between the summoner and the summoned beast, allowing them to fight together.

Lu Mingfei, in a way, was considered one of Orochimaru's disciples.

Orochimaru had originally wanted him to sign a contract with Ryūchi Cave.

But unfortunately, Lu Mingfei wasn't from the Naruto world at all.

Even the most powerful summoning jutsu couldn't possibly summon a creature from another world across dimensions.

In the end, Lu Mingfei only managed to learn the summoning technique itself—without forming a contract with any powerful creature.

However, Lu Mingfei did seem to have some kind of fate tied to dragons.

All the beings who wanted to form a contract with him were related to dragons.

"Fenrir, do you want to form a contract with me? I can take you out anytime, buy you food and drinks, let you play games with me. How about I teach you how to play StarCraft?"

Lu Mingfei spoke softly.

Fenrir tilted his head. The kid hadn't played online games before, but once he got a taste, he was bound to love them.

Old Tang nodded seriously and said:

"Fenrir, you won't lose out if you stick with Lao Lu. He'll feed you and give you shelter, and his gaming skills are top-tier. He'll carry you through the match like a pro—even if it's into a trash heap."

Ren Asakura also stepped forward and said:

"Don't you want to come out and play again in the future? Would you rather stay trapped in that labyrinth watching TV? Don't you want better snacks?"

Mai watched silently as everyone took turns sweet-talking and tricking a Dragon King with the intelligence of a three-year-old.

In the end, Fenrir dazedly offered a drop of his blood.

And just like that, a contract was formed between him and Lu Mingfei.

A summoning contract.

A vague connection was now established between Fenrir and Lu Mingfei.

As long as that bond remained, Lu Mingfei could summon Fenrir from anywhere at any time.

"Let's get along from now on, Fenrir!"

"Hehe!!"

Fenrir grinned innocently.

He didn't mind being the muscle.

Just give him a bag of chips and let him play—it was enough.

Looking at Fenrir, Lu Mingfei thought back to how he used to be.

Back during the campus festival at Shilan High, as long as someone offered soda and a computer to play on, he'd happily tag along and help out with anything.

Ren Asakura, watching the cheerful group, took out her phone.

"Let's film a short video! Short-form content is going to explode in the future, and I just thought of something really funny…"

Lu Mingfei looked at her mischievous expression and suddenly had a bad feeling.

"What are you planning?"

Ren Asakura grinned slyly.

"Remember what I said earlier? Double-cross both sides, take money from both ends."

Lu Mingfei: "...!"

Old Tang looked shocked.

"You're not seriously thinking of asking Jörmungandr for money, are you? I mean, I doubt she even has that much. Dragon Kings don't really need money, after all."

Jörmungandr had lived among humans.

And living required money.

But she didn't keep much of it saved.

Because, at her core, she was still a Dragon King.

"No worries, I'll just ask for a little less!"

Not asking for money? Impossible.

Not causing trouble? Also impossible.

Because their next destination was Japan.

And in Japan was someone Ren Asakura really wanted to reduce to ashes—

Herzog.

Just thinking about what was coming made Ren Asakura grin uncontrollably.

"Hehehehehe!!"

Lu Mingfei covered his face.

"Group leader, that laugh was way too evil. Aren't we supposed to be the good guys?"

Fenrir popped his head over.

"Big bro, I'm hungry. I want chips. I want spicy sticks."

Ren Asakura reached out and stroked Fenrir's majestic forehead.

"Help me out with a little favor, and we'll play a fun game. Afterward, I'll buy you chips, spicy sticks—100 packs if you want! Tons of lollipops! And I'll even take you to the movies!"

Fenrir clapped excitedly.

His sharp dragon claws clashed with a thunderous clang that echoed through the room.
