Chapter 109 - Chapter 2: The Eternal Kaleidoscope

"Oh dear, you recognized me." The young man smiled, raising a finger to his lips. "Don't make a fuss now. If you scare Konoha Village into paralysis, I won't get to enjoy my morning tea."

"This really is... searching far and wide only to find it effortlessly..."

Kakuzu looked extremely agitated, his pupils trembling uncontrollably. "Five hundred and eight million ryo... that's the bounty on your head! This is a joint fund from the Five Great Nations, guaranteed by every bounty exchange in the shinobi world!"

"Excellent, this is exactly the reaction I was hoping for. Though..." The young man curled his lips slightly, expressing mild dissatisfaction. "Is my head really worth so little? Seems even if I delivered it to Pakura myself, it wouldn't be enough to trade for her sage techniques."

This young man was undoubtedly Uchiha Kamihane.

Back then, after Uchiha Kagami turned into a tree, he had returned to the base. Under Uchiha Madara's guidance, he transplanted his younger brother's Mangekyō Sharingan.

The journey was rather winding; the path to eternity is no simple matter.

It is known that after awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan, each use of its ocular power or techniques generates a unique Yin Release chakra within the mind. This peculiar energy enhances the wielder's strength and causes their spiritual energy to surge. However, as Yin Release chakra accumulates, it damages the optic nerves and gradually erodes every cell in the body, leading to the wielder's physical deterioration.

Over time, the result is this: spiritual energy grows increasingly potent while physical energy steadily weakens—an effect known as 'Yin overwhelming Yang.'

Once enough Yin energy has accumulated in the mind, transplanting the Mangekyō Sharingan of a blood relative allows this energy to gradually merge with the new eyes. Through bloodline fusion and genetic reconstruction, the originally flawed sequences are fully restored. Given time, a transformative rebirth will occur.

This is the path to eternity.

Once successful, not only will the eyes undergo complete evolution, with base attributes and ocular jutsu potency greatly enhanced—such as unlocking the full form of 'Susanoo'—but they will also merge with the full ocular power of another pair of eyes, becoming the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan that will never go blind.

According to Madara's experience, a necessary prerequisite for successful fusion is the optimal timing for transplantation:

The moment the original eyes completely lose their sight is also the moment the Yin Release energy in the mind reaches its peak.

In the past, Kamihane would erase the negative effects of the Mangekyō Sharingan by rewinding time, restoring himself to an unharmed state. However, this operation also wiped away the newly generated Yin Release energy in his mind.

Therefore, Kamihane needed to frantically extract ocular power until his eyes were completely blinded, only then could he transplant Kagami's Sharingan.

For an entire month, he continuously suppressed the urge to rewind time—no different from restraining instinct—while recklessly expending his ocular techniques without regard for depletion, squandering his ocular power like a nouveau riche, even using Susanoo just to pour a cup of tea.

Finally, after nearly insane releases of ocular power, he went blind.

But contrary to expectations, his body hadn't weakened much, nor did he exhibit the so-called hemoptysis symptoms.

However, things were still within controllable limits overall. He decisively retrieved Kagami's Mangekyō Sharingan from the cultivation fluid and completed the transplantation surgery.

Everything was proceeding according to plan.

In just three short months, he completed the fusion and opened those eternal eyes.

These eyes shimmered with a vermilion hue like red jade, where the original array patterns now bore an additional three-leaf clover motif in ink-black, exquisitely ornate and dazzling as glazed glass, with faint violet light glowing amidst the crimson.

Even Uchiha Hikari nearby covered her small mouth, exclaiming "Beautiful."

According to the standard Mangekyō fusion process, success would have been achieved at this stage.

However, Uchiha Kagami's eyes were no ordinary Mangekyō.

Those were eyes that perfectly fused Hashirama's genes, inheriting pure Yang Release chakra.

Although he had completed the fusion of Yin Release, the fusion of Yang Release remained an unknown and lengthy process.

Every day, Kamihane had new sensations—his already peerless physical body was still slowly growing stronger day by day!

The eyes of blood relatives opened a path to bloodline fusion, and through this path, the Yang Release genes inherently carried within those eyes were also fusing with every cell in Kamihane's body. This was a reconstruction at the genetic level, with sequence ratios that could be called perfect!

This process is painless, but if Kamihane uses his pupil power, the fusion will come to a prolonged standstill, only to slowly recover after several months.

Precisely for this reason, to avoid unconsciously consuming his ocular power, he simply covered his eyes, allowing the Yin and Yang energies to naturally merge without any interference, gradually completing the process of physical enhancement.

Given time, he would attain the Yang Release power that Kagami had once demonstrated—a power free from side effects, without backlash, and entirely belonging to Uchiha Kamihane.

Bound by black silk, his eyes remained covered for six years.

During this period, as long as no active interference occurred, Kamihane's body would slowly evolve. Eating and drinking would incrementally strengthen him, with subtle enhancements permeating every cell, extracting increasingly potent Yang Release chakra.

This wasn't someone else's Yang Release, but rather Yang Release chakra naturally produced by his body after genetic modification.

Though progress was slow, the accumulated results were astonishing.

Kamihane had a vague premonition—he was about to break through the bottleneck.

"Knock, knock, knock..."

Across the table, Kakuzu set down his cup, his hands trembling uncontrollably from sheer agitation.

"No need to rush into a fight. If we're going to battle, let's take it outside—I'm rather fond of this establishment," Kamihane murmured softly.

"Fine." Kakuzu narrowed his eyes, a sickly green glint seeping through the slits. "You're the first prey I've seen who remains so calm knowing death is coming for them."

Kamihane found it somewhat amusing. "Kakuzu, aren't you the least bit curious why I was jointly wanted by all five great nations with such a high bounty on my head?"

"Does a lion care if the sheep it eats today was the lead sheep?" Kakuzu retorted nonchalantly.

"Or maybe Satan..." Kamihane muttered under his breath.

"What?"

"It's nothing."

"Hmph, I only care about the bounty. Nothing else matters." Kakuzu's voice oozed with confidence. "I possess an immortal body now. Even a Kage would fall easily before me!"

From behind the mask came a sinister "Heh heh heh" chuckle.

"Tsk tsk, it seems the intel about my final battle with Hashirama was tacitly suppressed by the Five Great Shinobi Villages..."

Kamihane asked, "So, can I assume you've abandoned your original goal and are now hunting me instead?"

"Hmm?" Kakuzu immediately grew suspicious. "How did you know I had another target?"

He had come to Konoha with another objective in mind—the current Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Back then, the First Great Ninja War had inflicted massive losses on the major nations. The Second Hokage, Second Raikage, Second Mizukage, and Second Tsuchikage—all four leaders—had perished one after another during the war, with countless elite ninjas buried on the battlefield.

As the major nations suffered significant military losses and lost their primary leaders, the First Great Ninja War gradually came to an end. In the aftermath, the countries tacitly agreed to a ceasefire treaty, ushering in a period of peaceful development for the world.

And this Sarutobi Hiruzen is the Third Hokage of Konoha Village, who ascended to power three years ago after passing multiple rounds of voting and being personally appointed by the Daimyo.

"Of course," Kamihane chuckled softly, lowering his voice. "Because the one who issued this bounty... was me."

"What!" Kakuzu stiffened slightly, his gaze instantly turning wary. "No wonder someone would offer 90 million ryo for a mere newly appointed Hokage! Do you have a grudge against him?"

Kamihane couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Kakuzu, I just love your purity. My target is exactly you!"
