Liam looked at me with a heavy sigh. "I know this is hard for you, but please understand that he's going through a lot right now, and any additional thing could potentially break him."
I wiped the tears that were still rolling down my cheeks with my hands and nodded. Christian's health was more important than anything else...even our relationship.
"Do you think he will get his memories back?" I asked after a long moment of silence.
Liam frowned, "This is something I can't be sure of. As much as I want to say that he will, it just depends on him and how he recovers."
At least there's a chance.
Before Liam walked out, I asked him one final question, one that's not been sitting well with me.
"Doctor, this wasn't a car accident, right?" I asked, looking straight into his eyes. "I'm asking you this as not just his doctor, but as his friend."
Liam paused, looking over at me for a good minute before answering.
