Adam's breath caught in his throat.
Only now did it truly dawn on him why Priscilla had been so tense, why her emotions had been teetering on the edge of despair and desperation.
She hadn't just acted out of jealousy, or obsession, or even misplaced loyalty.
She was scared.
Not of Adam... but for him.
Priscilla's voice broke through the silence, quiet at first, yet carrying the burden of knowing what she currently knows.
Minerva growled lowly, still very much pissed off, but at the same time she knew staying angry would not solve a single thing.
"Tshhh... so that is why… you tried to seal him away in your blood prison?"
Priscilla didn't deny it.
"I thought it was the only way. If she could't find him, she couldn't claim him. I didn't want to trap him forever, I just wanted to buy time."
Adam's gaze dropped, his mind spinning. As if that wasn't enough, Priscilla wasn't done.
