"Wait a second—did Sister Zoe really just scale that cliff so smoothly?"
"Sister Zoe is insane!!"
"No way her arms are that strong, right?!"
The audience was stunned. Zoe looked like a delicate, fair-skinned girl, and yet here she was, pulling off insane climbing feats.
"Huff… huff… This is really tough!"
Zoe panted, her voice strained. "But for you all to experience the story of Sekiro, even if the game designed by the old dev is insanely hard—I'll power through for you!"
"Yes! Go, Sister Zoe!"
"Moved… I'm seriously touched by Sister Zoe's dedication!"
"What's happening? Why am I getting emotional over this?!"
"Guys, spam the chat with love and support!!!"
Seeing how hard Zoe was trying for her audience, the chat was flooded with cheers and messages of encouragement.
Finally, after a grueling climb, Zoe made it past the cliff and landed on solid ground.
"Phew, finally made it!" Zoe mock-wiped sweat from her forehead. "Not bad, huh guys? I didn't let you down!"
The chat exploded with applause and even a wave of gift donations.
In high spirits, Zoe continued forward. Another cliff stood before her, about ten meters across, with no ledges to climb this time.
A prompt appeared: [Use your skill to jump across directly.]
"Got it!" Zoe replied, backed up, sprinted—and leapt!
With a whoosh, she soared across the ten-meter gap and landed gracefully on the other side.
"Holy crap, that jump!!!"
"Ten meters?! That's insane!"
"Duh, he's a martial arts master! That's what being a 'wolf' is all about!"
As the audience said, the tutorial was showcasing more advanced moves. Soon, Zoe had learned to chain jumps with wall grabs, double jumps, and full-on acrobatics. With these new tools, she was scaling walls like a master ninja.
It was like living out a martial arts fantasy in VR—no controllers, just your own body performing epic moves.
Zoe eventually neared the Moon Tower built along the cliffside. She climbed up a steep wall and slipped in through a hole in the attic wall.
Inside, the room was dim and cluttered, books scattered across the floor.
At a table sat a child, quietly reading by the light of an oil lamp. He had tidy bangs and looked about eleven or twelve, dressed in a purple robe with bare feet.
"That must be our wolf's master!"
"Big round eyes, tiny chin—adorable!"
"Is the wolf's master a boy or a girl? I can't even tell, they're just so cute!"
The audience cooed. The character's youthful design made them look like they'd stepped out of a fairytale.
The child looked up and spotted Zoe. Excitement flashed across his face, but he quickly composed himself. What had started as a run turned into a calm stroll.
"It's been a long time, Wolf," he said with a composed tone, voice light and melodic.
"I've come to see you, Master," Zoe's character replied, voice low and serious.
Unlike Deep Sea Trek, Sekiro was an action-focused game, so players didn't speak directly to NPCs. All key dialogue was scripted.
The child nodded, walked to the corner, and returned holding a sword box. He opened it to reveal a black, cloth-wrapped sword.
"Wolf, this is your sword: Nightfang. Please honor the master-servant bond and remain loyal to me, even at the cost of your life."
"Yes…" the Wolf's voice echoed solemnly.
"Sweet, I got my sword!" Zoe shouted excitedly, unsheathing the blade.
The three-foot-long sword gleamed under the light, shimmering with a cold, flowing aura.
A prompt appeared:
[Nightfang: A blade passed down through the Renard family. A gift from Master James Renard.]
[You can equip it on your back or waist. Customize its weight for better control.]
"Wait—customizable weight?!" Zoe gasped.
"The dev is too thoughtful!"
"Seriously, this guy torments us, but also spoils us!"
Out of curiosity, Zoe maxed out the sword's weight.
The moment she did, Nightfang crashed to the floor with a loud clang. Zoe couldn't even hold it!
James, standing in front of her, jumped in fright, his small body taking two quick steps back.
"Pfft! Sister Zoe, what are you doing?!"
"You scared the poor kid!"
"Look at James's terrified face!"
"Wolf, what's going on? Why can't you even hold your sword?" James asked, confused.
Zoe laughed awkwardly. "Sorry, that was an accident." She adjusted the weight and picked Nightfang back up, then sheathed it at her waist.
"Wolf, you seem hurt if you can't even hold your sword. Take this." James handed over a gourd.
Zoe checked the item prompt:
[Healing Gourd: Contains medicine that restores health. Refills automatically when resting. Brewed by Vincent, a disciple of the healer Sage Dawson.]
