Chapter 236 - Chapter 236: Save

The southern suburbs of Metropolis.

The black night was like a curtain draped over a birdcage, covering the southern suburbs.

In the quiet and secluded forest, in the vast darkness, a bright spot rose. Here, the camp was illuminated by powerful lights.

Strong, elite soldiers patrolled with guns, keeping vigilant watch from the sentry posts. Inside the camp, radar systems scanned the darkness of the southern suburbs.

Only one dark corner was subconsciously neglected.

Even the patrolling soldiers felt uneasy when they passed nearby.

In the darkness, a steel cage glowed coldly, like a giant beast lying in wait. The painful and hot breath it emitted slightly shook the surrounding air.

A light-footed patrol passed by. They glanced at the monster inside the cage. From the steel bars, waves of heat radiated outward. The intense temperature caused two elite soldiers to break into a sweat, their mouths dry and their clothes drenched against their backs.

"It's terrifying!"

Farther away, after patrolling to another area, one soldier let out a relieved sigh, swallowing dryly and speaking in shock.

"Yeah, what a monster!"

His companion's eyes shrank tightly. He wiped his forehead with his hand, only to find it damp. The late autumn cold wind blew over them, making him shiver involuntarily.

The two exchanged glances and quickly left, relieved.

Bardi advanced through the dark, using the magnetic field of his body to distort their vision and mask his own fluctuations.

He watched coldly as their figures retreated. He still remembered that this camp, a bright spot in the darkness of the southern suburbs, would soon become a ruin.

Here, after a few days, Deathstroke would find him. After the battle, Jenny would destroy the entire camp, leaving no survivors.

Bardi hovered silently to the edge of the steel cage. The searing heat was like standing at the mouth of a volcano, and the air around him burned.

Jenny lay on the ground, her massive face resting uneasily. Her heavy breathing was like thunderous snores, laced with the pain each breath caused, and she whimpered slightly.

Bardi gazed at her quietly, his heart aching and his eyes stinging.

Someone who loved him should not have to endure such suffering.

After a long moment.

Only then did Bardi calm himself, steady his breathing, and refocus his mind.

Using his body's magnetic field to distort their vision and block radar detection, he began to act. His fingers trembled slightly, and a torrent of nanometers converged. The gray mist, like a cloud of locusts from afar, formed and emerged at his fingertips, covering the sky and earth.

One nanometer is approximately four times the size of an atom, much smaller than a single bacterium. A bacterium is invisible to the naked eye and measures about five microns under a microscope. Assuming the diameter of a hair is 0.05 millimeters, it would take 50,000 strands, axially divided, to match a single hair, with each strand being about one nanometer thick. In other words, one nanometer is 0.000001 millimeters.

This was far beyond what ordinary eyes could see.

In Bardi's hands, the sheer number of nanoparticles had already surpassed hundreds of millions, forming a mist visible even to the naked eye.

Bardi's spirits lifted slightly. Staring sternly at Jenny, he flicked his finger, and the nano-mist spread out, invisible to the human eye, slipping into the dark steel cage.

The nanoparticles flowed into the darkness, clinging to Jenny's body and entering through her mouth and nose.

"Ugh..."

Jenny's massive head suddenly lifted slightly. Her face tensed as if about to sneeze, and she frowned uncomfortably.

The sudden invasion of the nanoparticle stream made her hair follicles itch, triggering a subconscious reaction to sneeze.

Ultimately, she did not sneeze. She simply lifted her head, lay down again, and resumed her painful rest.

She would not move unless absolutely necessary because movement brought her agony.

Bardi's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally relaxed slightly. His face softened. He pulled out a tablet from his storage space and began to operate it.

His eyes, like torches, pierced the darkness. Using microscopic vision, he regulated the flow of nanoparticles, distributing them evenly throughout Jenny's body. He carefully controlled the nuclear energy reactions inside her, reducing her pain.

The nanoparticles formed a stable control network within Jenny's cells and neurotransmission pathways. They replaced the energy storage functions of her fission cells, reduced fusion reactions, and slowed her body's growth rate.

Gradually, Jenny's tightly furrowed brows relaxed. Her pain was easing, and she became visibly more comfortable.

Bardi let out a quiet sigh of relief.

To save Jenny, he had made meticulous preparations. With no outside interference, and relying on Krypton's advanced technology, he had a thorough understanding of nuclear fusion and fission processes. There was no possibility of failure.

As no accidents occurred, Bardi continued, using his penetrating vision and microscopic sight to slowly ease Jenny's pain, making her more comfortable.

Rescuing Jenny did not mean simply taking her away.

Bardi had to ensure that there were no obvious changes to the world, or at least only minimal ones.

At the very least, Jenny had to be replaced, allowing his past self to experience exactly what he had, perfectly repeating the original sequence of events.

He needed his past self to see Jenny explode beside him, to be engulfed in a sea of fire, to hold the ring engraved with their names.

It had to be flawless.

If he had even slightly sensed Jenny's love back then, if he had doubted or hesitated even a little about saving her, it would have been all over.

Saving Jenny was an incredibly delicate task. Hera had calculated tens of millions of scenarios to perfectly replicate every detail, every expression, every movement.

Fortunately, at that time, he did not have microscopic vision and could not detect the controlled programs hidden deep within Jenny's bionic cells, which ensured the success rate.

"Jenny, sleep well."

Bardi said softly.

It seemed Jenny heard him. She stirred faintly, wanting to respond. Then, Bardi tapped the tablet screen, and Jenny lowered her head slightly, breathing steadily and painlessly.

Bardi glanced at the brightly lit camp, then revealed himself from the shadows. He entered the steel cage, puffed his cheeks, and exhaled a freezing breath, instantly freezing Jenny completely.

The cold spread rapidly. Before the soldiers could notice anything unusual, Jenny was already frozen into an ice block by Bardi.

In the blink of an eye, the frozen Jenny disappeared, and the bionic replica of Jenny was taken out from a special storage space and placed inside the cage.

The surroundings heated up once more.

Jenny, now the bionic body, lay between the steel cages again, frowning in pain.

After completing all this.

Bardi held the tablet and retreated into the nearby woods to monitor and control the bionic Jenny.

He quietly waited for the arrival of his past self.
