Damien stopped what he was doing after he saw me.
"Alpha Anastasia". He said to me as he stared at me.
"What is wrong with me, beta Damien? Why am I feeling this unbearable pain in my heart? Can you tell me?". I asked him, and I guess my eyes had become red as I struggled to breathe properly.
Beta Damien sighed. He glanced at the Lycan King. "Do you feel an unexplainable pain when you look at him right now?". He asked me and when I nodded at him, he added, "You are currently feeling that pain because he is your mate. That's how the mate bond works. When one mate is badly hurt, the other mate feels only a quarter or half of what their mate is going through. But don't worry. You will only experience the pain for a few minutes".
"Wait. So, you are trying to tell me that I might be experiencing only a quarter of his pain?". I asked him.
"Yes".
