Summer break started and I had made a rough outline and plan. First, I finished all homework, only struggling with Slughorn's beast of compendium, finishing all outstanding assignments within one week.
Afterward I went to MACUSA again, which's environment was no longer as stressed as previously. There, I took four international approved mastery tests, one each day, before promptly leaving again, having shopped a little in my downtime. Henry did not accompany me this time though, as he had stuff to do at Hogwarts.
I was now proud master of calligraphy, astronomy and arithmancy.
I also got, long overdue, a grandmaster title for languages, the requirement speaking fifty languages fluidly and one hundred others, which you just needed to be able to understand, did not even need a single magical language to pass, kind of disappointing to be honest. Falling standards and such.
The hardest test was astronomy by far, as I realized mid test, that I had overestimated myself. I passed due to a fluke, my biggest blind spot on the thematic not getting tested as thoroughly as the others. It also took the longest, starting midday and dragged all the way to 3 o'clock AM, with a small pause of ten minutes in between.
Afterwards I returned to Hogwarts, finally addressing my rewards of the trial on new year's eve. The books were easy to use, merely needing a prompt before being, not so gently, shoved into my mindscape. The content was interesting, listing multiple dos and do nots, giving tips on progression system and, what I really did not need, generalization, so that anyone could use it I did not plan to take that step in a very long time, maybe only doing it, if I ever think about founding my own organization. I was mostly on the right path for now though, arithmancy having come to the same conclusion as parts of the books, though my calculations were way more primitive than the ones detailed in the books.
I prodded the cleansing potion next, a small vial with blue content appearing in my hand. Luna had warned me that I should probably take it while in a shower, so I did. And god I am glad I did. The meeting with the ground was not so nice, but I really needed a shower afterwards. Contrary to popular belief, impurities were not pure black, so I was covered in a near rainbow sheen for one moment, before it all turned darker, mostly brown and rapidly crystalized, the stench wafting from it nearly prompting me to puke my guts out.
I showered and changed, looking for changes in my body, mana body, mind and soul as good as I could, but except loosing a few pounds, some baby fat and more lustrous skin, it felt like nothing changed overall. The last test was cultivation and proved me wrong Luna's fast progress now understandable. My previous absorption speed quadrupling, my control spiking and my mana sense getting slightly enhanced.
The vial of the potion securely saved on my nightstand, as it was a true work of art.
Now I was only left with the „randomized" bloodline, debating what to do. I could go so far as to say, that I only waited with the prices until now, as I was conflicted about this little small green pill, which appeared in my hand after a bit of mental prodding, no extra information being given. A comical view, myself standing in the room, looking indecisively upon the green small pill in my left hand as if it was the biggest, hardest riddle in the whole room.
After a long while of thinking, frozen in my position, I relented, popping this green small pill into my moth, though it dissolved into pure magical energy before I could even swallow it.

A dwarfish man flying in the middle of space, abruptly came to a stop, before heartily laughing, the gesture lost to the unrelenting nature of space, the man picking up speed again.
Another man was fighting millions of ants in a crevice, suddenly freezing for just a split second, being impaled by hundreds of earthen spears and mandibles, before vanishing and appearing just a meter away, fully healed, before jumping into the frenzy once more, even more motivated than before to bring it to a fast end.
A woman knitting a pair of small black gloves froze in her tracks, before sighing: „It was probably the weird one. I should make a few bets about the next event", she joked, just shrugging of the event of a century.
There were thousands of such reactions, anyone lucky enough in the Ollivander family to receive a new bloodline to be exact, only a selected few even having guesses from whom it came. A few other rare ones dying, not having a miraculous regeneration to just shrug it off while fighting enemies, some multiple stages above themselves, losing just a millisecond before the whole deck of cards was reshuffled, multiple unaffiliated seers collapsing unconscious due to these sudden and violent changes to fate.
One reaction stood out though. A genius of geniuses in exactly that discipline, directly starting to experiment with his new bloodline, making big leaps in his understanding of it and the discipline, finding the last missing piece through which he could finally upgrade his aspect from being an intent to a domain in the timeframe of a few seconds, comprehending another more than flawless ember of an aspect in the next second, his power spiking tremendously.

Transformation. This was the first thing I knew about my bloodline, followed by a name: Magicis animalis amplificationem, roughly translating to magical animal enhancement.
Slowly, through meditating the rest of the holiday, I got a better understanding of it, until after multiple weeks, I knew what it did and how to do it, the very very basics at least. Unlike what one would think if you see the name, it only worked on yourself, specifically or mostly your animagus forms.
It made it possible to upgrade mortal species into magical ones, additionally facilitating permanent enhancement for these forms.
A magical species as animagus form was not unheard of, I was even sure that Dumbledore had a phoenix, but you needed to comprehend it somehow or just have extreme luck or a bonded partner which meddles a bit too much sometimes. But you could not just go and transform a mortal species into a magical similar one or enhance your animagus form in any normal way, a few rare cases still existing, nothing being impossible. Most scholars would have sworn such a bloodline impossible to and here we are.
This bloodline had a high limit too, making it even possible to graft the very genetic sequences of the animagus form. I could only fantasize about the highest highs of mastery, probably making it possible to fuse different forms or even mate them, still retaining the original forms or purging forms which you did not need or were no longer up to standard.
It still had restrictions though, from needing to have the required knowledge to even attempt something like that to a newly applied blockage after each upgrade, the person needing to restudy the form.
Another caveat was, that comprehending magical species without the use of the bloodline would get millions of times harder, also near completely blocking any chances for a natural occurring mutation of a mortal form into a magical one. The most known technique for this was transforming for the first time in a very dense and pure mana environment. That is what I wanted to do with most of my animagi forms, but it now became redundant.
So, after learning that, I transformed. Not into a toad but into a fox, my fox. And it went so much better than transforming in a toad. I understood for the first time, how dangerous the transformation into the toad had been. The transformation felt nothing like the previous one. It felt freeing, accompanied by an adrenaline rush and so many more positive feelings. Then, before I could even look in a mirror, I fell dead asleep as a fox, exhausted from my non stop meditation, in the end missing the welcoming dinner for the new year, only getting disturbed by a squealing Luna, cuddling and hugging me before we both fell asleep again.
Next morning gonna be awkward though…
