Chapter 50 - Puny Mortals!

According to the books, every newly-born Annihilators had the power to destroy a small planet and those with exceptional potential could even blow away half of a single galaxy with a damn sneeze. The majority of the population treats this story in the books as a myth. After all, such exaggerated power just sounds like a dream. Not to mention, a race?

However, the SSS-rank hunter in the human world, who is said to have awakened the Super Race's "Annihilators," had such power!

With his Super Annihilation form, the SSS-rank hunter Damon had firmly cemented his position as the strongest human hunter!

"Who knows? They might have been destroyed due to their immense potential and the strange annihilation energy they possessed. If they're not real, how to explain Damon's power? Also, according to him, his Super Annihilation Form is considered a taboo even among the super race." The Grand Elder whispered, putting his hand behind his back, trying to be mysterious.

Ian hesitated before saying with an exaggerated expression. "So terrifying!"

"..."

The Grand Elder felt helpless at this. "You're not taking this seriously, are you? I'm saying this for your own good. You might inevitably have to face that guy in the future." "Although you have your laser eyes. It's rather unstable power and cannot be relied upon." He sounded sincere at this moment.

While they're talking, Ian and the Grand Elder landed on the ground on the remaining half of the island. After the discussion about Super-items, Origin Items, and even the SSS-rank hunter Damon, Ian felt that he had learned a lot. Damon's Super Annihilation Form is a multiplier form. Yeah, literally multiplies his form 100x! It was more overbearing than his Asura Physique.

But there was a disadvantage in Damon's transformation. It consumes a tremendous amount of energy just to maintain the form and can only be used for a short time. As for Ian's Asura Physique? Although only 50x multiplier, it was a permanent state without energy consumption. His Asura Physique could be said to be his base form, right?

On the other hand, Origin-level items are something unique and couldn't be categorized by the conventional items. The certain thing was that every one of them was at least as valuable as a Plunder-Grade Item, and a lot of them were even as important as a Super-Item!

The Grand Elder actually suspects that there might be an Origin-Grade item guarded by the beasts in the depths of this island.

Ian's heart pounded with excitement as determination replaced his previously leisurely eyes. He also began to be wary of the Grand Elder at his side. When it comes to it, who can be sure if the Grand Elder won't be tempted by the Origin-Grade Item? After all, the human heart is the most complicated. Oh no... The vampire's heart is the most complicated.

'Should I kill him now to eliminate future trouble?' Ian walked alongside the Elder, deep in thought as he carefully considered. 'Nah, it's not time to burn the bridge and turn each other's faces yet. 'I still need him for the upcoming things.'

After all, the Grand Elder's experience and deep knowledge are really helpful. What if there's a trap or a key or a language needed to enter the separate dimension where the Origin-Grade item was located? Without the Grand Elder, what the hell would he do alone?

The Grand Elder froze for a moment as he suddenly felt a sliver of killing intent from Ian that had vanished quickly as it appeared.

'What the hell just happened to him!? Did I provoke him or anything?' He couldn't help but feel a cold sweat forehead. He looked at Ian, but there was nothing but a faint, amiable smile on his face.

'I might just be thinking things.'

He wiped the cold sweat on his temples and let out a sigh of relief.

After a few more walks, the Grand Elder and Ian reached the depths of the Floating Island. They walked passed nothing but a sea of rainbow grasses. Giant toads that had disgusting ancestor-like faces near translucent ponds. Ian also witnessed beasts that had heads the shape of a triangle. Unbelievably, those toads and triangled-shape heads gave the aura level similar to the Grand Elder beside him, and they were numerous as hell.

The thing is, most of them seem to be peaceful and relaxed. They didn't even bother Ian and the Grand Elder. Ian really wanted to kill them and even tried to provoke them along the way, but most of them just turned a blind eye to him. Even some of them began to guide them. It made Ian reluctant to kill them for biomass. After all, he wasn't a brute. He still has a bottom line on his moral compass.

What a waste of potential biomass!

'Why the fuck was he keep trying to provoke those beasts!? Isn't it good to reach our destination smoothly!?'

The Grand Elder cursed. He felt he had aged more than another three years due to stress. Those fucking beasts were as strong as him!

Just like that, they finally reached their destination. The Grand Elder straightened his back and nervously looked at the location of the strongest energy signature. Ian was the same, albeit not as nervous.

"Puny mortals, why have you come to the domains of god? If you don't want to die, leave!"

"You? A god? What a joke! Who are you kidding?"

Ian scrutinized the brown deer ahead that could speak. Its face looked really cute, but its ugly voice, comparable to Ryan Reynolds but with condescending god-complex, made Ian repulsed.

What a bad day to have eyes!

The Grand Elder began to sweat profusely. Near the talking deer, the aura it exuded wasn't worse than the king's. Behind the deer, there was a green rippling dot.

The Deer gave Ian a look of disdain. "A mere mortal dares to talk to me in such a way. You must be tired of living." "You can die."

With a casual stomp on the ground, three thunderbolts emerged slowly above its head.

Zzzzz!!!

They released the sound of screaming birds.

Ian could actually feel danger for the first time. His danger sense tingled, and an aura of doom struck him.

The thunderbolt looks slow in his eyes. Yet they actually move at a speed his body couldn't respond.

"Aeg Dom!"

The Grand Elder released a golden barrier to resist the lightning bolts. A sound of a crack reverberated as they didn't even last for a second. The Grand Elder's face paled visibly, and he spat blood.

This isn't a battle he could participate!

Finally, the bolts struck Ian right in the face, which sent him flying with a thud.

Amidst the cloud of dust, Ian wiped the blood on his forehead with a grin. "The damage output is enough to delete a continent in the face of a planet... Not bad!"

"But this is far to be considered God. You're just a puny deer with a god complex."
