(Third Person POV)
"Alright, Riktor." Drakken said as he stood on one side of the yard, "Is that blindfold properly on?"
There was a large pile of rocks next to Drakken, who was holding Astorias in one arm. The baby was merely smiling as she looked at her father, constantly reaching for his face as he looked ahead.
Riktor, who was in the middle of the training yard, nodded, "Yes." He said as he had a blindfold on, holding a wooden greatsword, "It is!"
Drakken smirked slightly, "Alright." He said, "It begins."
Suddenly, several rocks began to float in the air. Then, they shot right at Riktor who dodged some and blocked the others in rapid succession. The sounds of the rocks clashing against the wooden sword resounded throughout the training yard.
"Whoa...." He said as he straightened up, "That's....."
Drakken nodded, "That's not much." He said as he felt Astorias pull on his shirt, cooing at him, "We'll pick the pace up a bit."
"Alright..." Riktor said
Then, without wasting a moment, several rocks flew right at Riktor again. These flew at him much faster and he was able to dodge most of them and deflect the rest without much of an issue. Drakken simply watched as he sent another wave of rocks at him, seeing that Riktor was able to dodge with ease.
"Interesting..." He said, "It appears he is adapting quite quickly....constantly using his Sight to predict where the rocks will come from...."
Then, for the next couple of minutes, Drakken sent waves of rocks flying at Riktor at rapid speeds. Riktor was able to dodge and block several rocks, even deflecting some to hit incoming ones. This was a pleasant surprise for Drakken, who did not think his son would be this skillful already.
A slight smile formed on Drakken, "Hm..."
Drakken then flicked his wrist, causing the deflected rocks to float and swirl around Riktor who stayed still.
"It's....." Riktor said, "It's like that, huh?"
Drakken smirked, "Heh."
Then, all of the rocks shot at Riktor simultaneously with blinding speed. Riktor tried avoiding all of them but was only able to get the majority. The rest of them struck him all over his body, one getting him good in the jaw and dropping him to the ground.
"Agh!" He groaned in pain, "Shit....."
Drakken looked at this, "You alright?"
Riktor slowly got up, "Yep!" he said, "Let's go again."
Drakken focused on Riktor's head, noticing that there was a strange fluctuation of ether in it. He immediately deduced that continuous use of the Future Sight would strain Riktor.
"Hm...." Drakken said, "Take a break."
Riktor shook his head, "No!" He said, "I can do this."
Drakken raised his eyebrow, "You sure?"
"Yes." He said
"Alright." Drakken said
Drakken slowly raised his hand, and all of the rocks began to float high in the air, the baby in his arms looking at this, mesmerized completely.
Then, several rocks shot at Riktor, who blocked them all with ease. Then, more rocks shot right at him with even faster speeds, prompting the young lord to dodge and deflect them. Drakken then swirled the last wave all around Riktor and flung them hard at him for one final burst.
Riktor pivoted as he deflected the rocks, barely dodging others and blocking the last ones almost effortlessly.
The boy was panting, "Y-Yes....." He said, "I did it....."
Drakken flew a pebble into his hand and then flicked it at Riktor, striking him in the head hard.
"Agh!" the boy shouted as he was flung backwards
He hit the ground and panted heavily, sweat covering his body.
Drakken walked over while holding Astorias, the baby laughing and smiling the whole time, "Seems doing that consistently puts a great strain on your body." He said, "You should take a break. We'll continue tomorrow. You have plenty of gifts that you cannot tackle all at once. It takes great discipline for you to handle all of it, Riktor. Discipline you don't have yet."
Riktor slowly sat up and took his blindfold off, "I...." He said softly, panting slowly, "I just want to be strong....like you."
Drakken tilted his head, "You'll be strong, alright." He said, "But like me? Yea, that is an expectation so high you are sure to disappoint yourself. You'll be above any other man in the world, you are my son. Be content with that."
"I...." Riktor said, "I just think I should have other powers..."
"What makes you say that?" Drakken asked, "Is my Blessing not sufficient for you? Telekinesis is the most potent ability you can have, Riktor. I gave it great thought."
"What about your power? To control dragons..." He said
"My Calamity?" Drakken raised an eyebrow, "Trust me, not many can handle a Calamity. I received this power when I was young, several years older than you are now. And I was one of many candidates who were chosen to receive it. I am the only one who survived the process. It is not something anyone could just get, Riktor."
The boy looked down, "I see...."
"And that's because I am from the world where this power belongs. You? You may be my son, but you are from this world, Riktor. You don't have Ether." Drakken continued, "You were barely able to handle my Blessing, which I modified to the point where it should be compatible with your body. You are fortunate that your Father is a prodigal genius when it comes to Sorcery."
"I understand." Riktor slowly got up as Astorias's laugh was heard clearly, "I....I will keep that in mind."
"Do that." Drakken said, "Your gifts are one of a kind. Not many have Future Sight where I am from. A couple of seconds in the future is a game-changer when it comes to combat. And when you have the physical ability to do something about the future you see, you will be invincible. Pair that up with your refined sword skills and Telekinesis...and nobody will defeat you."
Riktor looked at him, "Not even you?"
Drakken chuckled, "I don't include myself in these scenarios." He said as Astorias was touching his face, laughing, "I am a god, boy. Remember that."
"Right." Riktor said as he panted, "I think I am okay now, we can keep going."
"No." Drakken said, "Your mind is strained. You need a bit of rest."
"No, I am fine." Riktor said
"You are not." Drakken told him, "Go and get some rest. Don't make me repeat myself."
He nodded, "Fine...."
He turned around and walked away as Drakken stood there, watching him leave the yard.
"Hm." Drakken said as Astorias was slapping him on the face, "And you! Why must you keep striking me????"
He held Astorias in the air in front of him, the girl smiling and laughing. Her eyes were right on Drakken, who was giving her a serious scowl. The sight of that did not face the little Astorias, who laughed even more, her hands reaching out for his face.
"Tch...." Drakken said, "You are clingy.....just like your Mother....."
"What a ridiculous girl."
