Isabella's point of view
The cold seeped into my bones, wrapping around me like an unrelenting force determined to drag me into the abyss. My breath came in shallow, uneven bursts, my lungs struggling against the weight pressing against my ribs. Leonardo's presence loomed over me, his fingers still gripping my jaw, forcing my gaze to meet his. His dark eyes were endless, swallowing every ounce of defiance left in me, but I refused to crumble. Not yet.
The body behind him was a warning—a grotesque reminder that resistance came with consequences. The blood pooled, thick and unforgiving, the scent of iron heavy in the air. My stomach twisted, a violent wave of nausea crashing over me, but I swallowed it down, forcing myself to remain still. If I broke now, he would win. And I couldn't let that happen.
Leonardo's lips curled into a smirk, his grip tightening just enough to make my pulse spike. "You're trembling."
