Without even realizing it, Byron started smiling at the girl who was teasing him, licking his lips as if he was suddenly dying of thirst. This didn't go unnoticed by Lucille. In fact, she became so angry that she gave the girl a glare so full of killing intent that if looks could kill she would have dropped dead on the spot.
The girl quickly stood to attention, frozen. Byron was confused for a split second, wondering if she had been just toying with him, but then he saw the way Lucille was staring at the girl and he came to a realization right away.
The girl was afraid of Lucille.
Byron didn't exactly understand how these gorgeous dryads came to be her maids, but he could see they revered her.
It was a pity he himself had gotten off to a bad start with her. She seemed a kind woman, just a little too possessive perhaps, but a nice person overall. The way she had taken care of him all these months was proof enough of how good natured she was.
