But when the numbers are large enough, even a power level of sixty or seventy becomes astonishing.
"Your Highness Kaos, I feel so useless… Everyone else can help, but I couldn't do anything just now. And yet, you still reached out to save me."
Rika Minami's nose tingled with emotion. She hadn't expected Kaos to care about her feelings.
A warm current surged through her heart, filling it completely. An indescribable joy rose within her, and the image of the wise man in her heart grew taller and nobler.
Kaos chuckled softly at her words. "You're my woman, not my general. Why would I expect you to charge into battle and kill for me?"
His rhetorical question left Rika Minami speechless, unsure of how to respond.
Kaos looked at the flustered Rika Minami, then leaned in and whispered something in her ear.
Her face flushed instantly. After a moment of hesitation, she nodded shyly, clearly agreeing to a certain request.
Seeing this, Kaos revealed a satisfied smile.
"Alright, now go take care of Kaido."
Kaos gently patted Rika Minami's cheek, then turned and began planning the next phase of their operation.
Stussy, standing beside him, gave a slight nod. They would remain stationed on this island for the time being.
Kaos had just used Observation Haki to scan the nearby islands and confirmed that there was no sign of Kaido or his crew.
Presumably, when the group fell from the sky earlier, they had landed elsewhere—some distance from this location.
Kaos wasn't interested in searching for them himself.
He would let the follow-up Marines handle that. After all, he had expended a great deal of energy supporting this operation.
If even tracking someone was beyond them, what were they good for?
So, Kaos and the others decided to rest temporarily on the island.
About an hour passed.
In the distance, a Marine fleet began approaching. It had to be said—since the Marines upgraded their equipment, their speed had improved dramatically.
Far better than the sluggish fleets of the past.
Before, the Marine fleets were embarrassingly slow.
Now, the fleet had arrived at the island where Kaos was located. The highest-ranking officer onboard was Ghost Spider.
This time, Ghost Spider had been dispatched personally.
Although he didn't yet possess the full strength of a Vice Admiral, he was a rising force.
"Your Highness Kaos!"
As Ghost Spider stepped off the warship, a large group of soldiers followed behind him.
But upon arrival, they immediately noticed the absence of Akainu—and a chilling thought crossed their minds:
Could Akainu be dead?
Everyone else was accounted for—so why wasn't he here?
"Stop looking. Akainu's not dead," Kaos said calmly. "Start searching the surrounding islands for any signs of them."
"If you find any traces, report immediately. Don't engage unless absolutely necessary."
Kaos strode toward one of the warships and gave his orders directly to Ghost Spider.
Relieved to hear that Akainu was still alive, Ghost Spider nodded. After all, they belonged to the same faction.
Despite the righteous image the Marines tried to project...
In reality, they were divided into several factions behind the scenes. The most loyal were the so-called "obedient dogs."
Ghost Spider happened to be one of Akainu's loyal followers.
That's why Kaos had selected him for this mission.
Ghost Spider accepted the order without delay. The plan was to make contact with Akainu once he was located.
What no one expected was that Akainu had landed on the very same island where Kaido and his crew were hiding.
At that moment, Kaido was gravely wounded. If not for the incredible regeneration granted by his Devil Fruit, he would have died long ago.
He was currently lying on a stone bed inside a cave, being tended to by Queen and Jack.
Kaido's face was ashen, and blood still flowed from his wounds.
Though the injuries were beginning to heal, the process was painfully slow—and the sight was gruesome.
Any ordinary person would have died from such damage.
Queen and Jack stood helplessly by his side. Their only option was to get Kaido back to Wano Country as soon as possible.
Only the medical facilities there could possibly save him.
Queen took out a Den Den Mushi and immediately called their pirate fleet stationed in Wano.
Snort snort!
The call connected quickly.
"Lord Queen, what's the situation?"
Without wasting time, Queen gave his orders. "Take out Lord Kaido's life card and head in our direction immediately."
"Don't bring too many pirate crews. Keep an eye out—make sure no Marines are following you."
"And bring a medical team—the best you can find. Lord Kaido is seriously injured and needs urgent treatment."
Queen issued the instructions crisply. But when he finished, there was a moment of stunned silence on the other end.
Then came a loud, shocked voice.
"What?! Lord Kaido is seriously injured?! My God, what happened?!"
Queen didn't scold the subordinate—he understood the shock.
He had reacted the same way. After all, Kaido was known as the strongest creature alive.
His monstrous self-healing powers and unmatched combat experience were the stuff of nightmares.
As one of the Four Emperors, Kaido was like the Emperor of the New World.
His fearsome reputation made others tremble.
And now this same invincible man had been seriously wounded. Queen's instructions to act discreetly made it clear—they were terrified of being discovered.
Oh my God!
Who could possibly have such terrifying power to wound Lord Kaido like this?
That was the question on everyone's mind.
Knowing that time was running out, Queen shouted again:
"Listen carefully! Come to us as quickly as possible."
"Bring no more than three ships. And be extremely cautious—don't let anyone tail you. Got it?"
It was clear that Queen was terrified of Kaos and his group.
The fact that even Kaido and Bullet had been forced into such a desperate state said it all.
