Bullet panicked for a moment.
A deafening roar pierced through the energy shield, and the previously distorted barrier instantly stabilized.
A few small knives, caught in the high temperature, cracked and ultimately disintegrated into dust.
The threat had been completely neutralized.
Bullet let out a sigh of relief—only to realize, a second later, that his body was no longer under his control.
He was being pulled rapidly, hurtling through the water at an alarming speed.
"What's going on?!"
Startled, he tried to regain control, but no matter how hard he struggled, his body wouldn't respond.
An invisible force had wrapped around him, completely suppressing his movements. A wave of fear surged through him.
He turned toward Kaos—and saw that Kaos was also moving, descending rapidly toward the sea.
It was him!
Bullet's eyes widened in understanding, gathering power in his fist, he fired off a sudden laser blast.
Kaos had been watching him closely and anticipated the attack. Controlling the seawater around him, he redirected the incoming blast with a surge of pressure, knocking the trajectory off course.
The deadly beam narrowly missed Kaos.
He smirked. Compared to before, Bullet's strength had dropped significantly.
The threat he once posed was now negligible.
And here, beneath the sea, Kaos held all the advantage. He could manipulate the surrounding water at will, suppressing Bullet with ease.
Even though the seawater was boiling and rapidly evaporating from the intense energy, the sheer volume was immense. There was no need to worry about running out.
As they neared the seabed, Kaos summoned a forceful current to slam into Bullet.
The impact sent Bullet crashing to the ocean floor, like a rubber ball in Kaos's grasp, utterly powerless.
Underwater, he had no control at all.
This was exactly where Kaos's mental power shined brightest.
As time passed, Bullet became nothing more than a helpless puppet, tossed and pinned down by Kaos in the deep sea.
He wanted to die. The pressure was unbearable—both physically and emotionally. Kaos had forced him deep into the abyss, where the crushing weight of the ocean left him struggling to maintain even his energy shield.
Every attack Bullet launched was dodged effortlessly.
He regretted everything.
If he had known that Kaos's domain was the ocean itself, he would never have foolishly chosen to fight him here.
Now, he was completely at Kaos's mercy. His speed was useless underwater, his strength severely diminished. Every time he tried to surface, a massive current drove him back down.
There was no escape.
This was the end.
Bullet raged in silence, screaming his frustration into the depths. But the Dyna Stone inside his body was almost depleted—only 5% of its energy remained.
His energy shield could now barely extend a meter around him, and it was shrinking fast.
Faced with death, Bullet was finally afraid.
He regretted escaping from Impel Down to challenge these monsters.
He had only been imprisoned for a few years, and when he returned to the world, everything had changed.
Kaido had ruined him.
If he had known how terrifying Kaos was, he would have stayed in prison, training in secret, and only emerged once his power had reached its peak.
But there's no medicine for regret.
No matter how much he wished to go back, it was too late.
Death was inevitable.
In the face of that final moment, Bullet gave up his pride. Despite how difficult it was to transmit sound underwater, he folded his hands and knelt on the seabed.
Even a fool could see he was praying.
Kaos saw the once-mighty Bullet kneeling beneath the sea, and pride surged in his heart.
He had made the right choice, harnessing mental power alongside physical strength.
Here, beneath the ocean, he was untouchable.
And mental power, when used well, could be a terrifying weapon.
Bullet, realizing his body had finally stopped sinking, felt a faint glimmer of hope.
But that was quickly extinguished as he saw Kaos slowly drifting toward him, seawater rapidly coalescing into a swarm of sharp water thorns.
Each thorn moved with lethal speed and carried immense piercing force.
Bullet knew he couldn't survive another hit. Even one of those attacks would shatter the last of his energy shield.
He didn't even dare to move.
Kaos was so close now that he could almost read Bullet's lips—and could even make out faint words carried by the water.
"I surrender," Bullet muttered, head lowered. "I'm willing to be captured… please, let me go."
Kaos understood what he meant—but he had no intention of letting him off that easily.
He drifted lower, looking down at Bullet, who now resembled a pathetic lapdog cowering at his feet.
It was almost funny.
Kaos then used his mental power to send a message directly to Bullet's mind.
His current level of mental energy allowed for simple communication and manipulation of objects.
Bullet was stunned to hear a voice echo in his mind.
He realized it was coming directly from his brain.
The boy in front of him—Kaos—was speaking to him mentally.
What kind of terrifying power was this?
He hadn't expected someone so young to possess such divine, unbelievable strength.
But now was not the time for awe.
Kaos's voice echoed in Bullet's head, and its cold tone chilled him to the bone.
"You dared to challenge the World Government… That's a dead end."
