Chapter 473 - The Primordial Organ and the Missing Five Hundred Years

Rosen still wanted to take a closer look at the memory world through the Eye of the Night Veil when his Dark Sun Eye suddenly began to boil violently.

It was as if water and fire were inherently incompatible—his Dark Sun Eye would not allow the Eye of the Night Veil, constructed from the crest of the night veil, to integrate with it.

At that moment, the Primordial Dark Sun also seemed to be provoked, madly pouring its power into the Dark Sun Eye in an unending torrent.

The Dark Sun Eye and the Eye of the Night Veil were fundamentally incompatible. The two opposing forces nearly blew Rosen's skull apart.

Just as he was about to lose control, the Root Source Seed suddenly went out of control and merged into the eye manifesting at his glabella.

With a bang, Rosen's skull burst open from the center of his brow.

However, under the power of the Immortal Will, both his source of life and source of divinity gained the attribute of indestructibility. And since he had only infused a very small portion of his origin into them, it actually made his regeneration and resurrection extremely easy.

In just the blink of an eye after reviving, Rosen's glabella once again became a battlefield, crushed by the collision of three forces.

Endless regeneration, endless destruction. The cycle of heaven had come full circle. He could now understand what the Holy God of the Lunar Yin had felt. No wonder that god saw him as the greatest enemy—this desire to die but inability to perish, the wish to live yet inability to truly survive, was indeed a torturous experience.

If he couldn't resist it, then he could only endure it. Once he got used to it, the torment gradually became less intense.

In fact, as the sense of habituation deepened, he even began to feel a strange sort of pleasure.

Within the memory world, Rosen gradually lost his sense of time. Eventually, even his Immortal Will grew significantly stronger, giving him the capacity to spare some attention to gaze down upon the primordial universe from the vantage of the Dark Sun, observing the brutal battles among the primordial beings.

At first, he couldn't even discern their true forms—he could only see vague, blurry shadows.

It wasn't that the memory world was incapable of presenting their true forms, but rather that his own perception instinctively blurred them. Merely observing primordial beings was enough to inflict fatal damage on an eternal will.

But the Immortal Will was different. It allowed him to truly make contact with the power of primordial beings.

Because the Immortal Will had extremely high priority, it could forcibly control all laws and matter.

For this reason, Rosen had once assumed that this might be the source of a primordial being's immense power.

However, after continuously observing them in the memory world, he discovered that not a single primordial being actually used laws to fight.

The reason was simple—laws existed to stabilize the world and restrain life, but primordial beings were unbound by any constraints.

No power derived from laws could cause them any harm.

The battles of primordial beings could be broken down into three primary components.

The first was pure force. With Immortal Wills strengthened to an extreme, primordial beings could perfectly unify and compress their source of life and source of divinity. The extent of this control could be likened to compressing an eternal world into the tip of a needle for embroidery.

This infinite compression of pure force yielded terrifying destructive and defensive power.

As such, without exception, all primordial beings were melee fighters. Their greatest strength lay in close-quarters combat.

Secondly, while engaging in physical combat, primordial beings also fought on the level of consciousness.

The direct clash of Immortal Wills—both sides had the undying trait. Melee battles could strip away an opponent's ability to resist, but couldn't deal fatal damage, as the health bars formed by Immortal Wills were locked at their maximum.

This upper limit couldn't be reduced, so the only way to defeat a primordial being was through sealing.

One had to erase the self-awareness contained within the opposing Immortal Will, turning it into a blank state and then splitting and sealing it away.

This type of offense and defense at the memory level was so abstract that Rosen couldn't even discern how it was happening.

Finally, the core of a primordial being's battle lay in the purest form of willpower.

Melee combat relied on the undying attribute of the Immortal Will, which locked the upper limit of health. Consciousness warfare depended on the fact that Immortal Will required self-awareness to be wielded. But both of these were merely ancillary functions—they did not represent the true power of the Immortal Will.

The true core of Immortal Will was willpower itself—I think, therefore I am; what one believed to be true became a terrifying reality.

If a primordial being believed itself to be the embodiment of all light, it could control all light. If it believed that its enemy would be restrained by its light, then the enemy truly would be restrained. If it believed that the light it controlled had infinite properties, the Immortal Will could harness light to wield those infinite properties.

Whatever the primordial being believed its Immortal Will to be, it could become exactly that.

Through the Immortal Will, all primordial beings were omniscient and omnipotent.

This led to a simple truth: the strength of any primordial being was solely determined by the strength of its Immortal Will.

If Immortal Will was indeed the highest level of power for a primordial being, then what did that make the Eye of the Night Veil and the Dark Sun Eye? As these two grew and continued to clash with the Immortal Will, Rosen felt that they were in no way inferior.

Immortal Will possessed terrifying, wholly idealistic power. Rosen began trying to manipulate his Immortal Will to master that power.

But his Immortal Will was far too weak. Though he imagined himself perfectly controlling the Dark Sun Eye and the Eye of the Night Veil, in reality, his will was not strong enough to fully manage them. He could only control a very small portion of their power and, under the guidance of his willpower, slowly gain a little bit of mastery.

Rosen tried to use his Immortal Will to strengthen the Root Source Seed—only for it to collapse instantly.

The seed could not be destroyed, for it shared the same undying property as Immortal Will.

Rosen's Root Source Seed could fuse with the Source Seed, but in essence, it was merely transforming one kind of Source Seed into another; it didn't truly destroy the Source Seed. The only known entity capable of truly destroying the Source Seed was the Heart of the Universe.

The Source Seed possessed immortality traits and could perfectly align with the laws.

At its core, the fundamental power constituting the Source Seed was the Immortal Will.

The fallen Primordial Life's Immortal Will—part of it scattered across the universe and became eternal life, some were sealed within the Nightfall Society, and the rest transformed into innate Source Seeds. As for the acquired Source Seeds, they all originated from the cosmic will.

Rosen once believed that the fall of eternal life gave birth to countless civilizations within the universe.

Now, it seemed he had overestimated eternal life.

The spiritual force constituting countless civilizations and lives throughout the universe probably did not belong to eternal life, nor to Primordial Life, but to the fallen cosmic will. After all, the Immortal Will of Primordial Life could not be extinguished; how could the cosmic will be weaker than the Immortal Will of Primordial Life?

No matter how you think about it, that was impossible. Perhaps this was the true reason the Primordial Universe became the starry cosmos.

If the Immortal Will was already difficult to eradicate, Primordial Life had chances to resurrect because of it.

Let alone the cosmic will—Rosen had never understood how the cosmic will could die.

If Primordial Life couldn't truly kill the cosmic will, then they chose to seal it, transform the Primordial Universe into a starry cosmos more suitable for weaker life forms, and finally split the cosmic will into countless civilizations and lives.

This method seemed to explain the death of the cosmic will.

But now, with the destruction of the universe and countless civilizations, wouldn't this give the cosmic will a chance to reunite and resurrect?

It seemed there were still secrets Rosen did not yet understand.

Rosen stopped overthinking and focused all his energy on perceiving the changes in the Root Source Seed.

As the Root Source Seed was continuously assaulted by the Nightfall Eye and the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye, it began to be stimulated little by little, transforming itself back to its origin, evolving toward its most essential form until it transformed into Immortal Will and started to inversely absorb the two ocular powers.

The three powers formed a tripartite standoff, endlessly entangled. None could overcome the others; only under the harmonization of Immortal Will did they gradually integrate.

After an unknown amount of time, the wars of the Primordial Life in the memory world ended.

Out of hundreds of Primordial Life forms, only dozens survived.

With no opponents left, they began to frantically destroy the entire Primordial Universe.

Even though the space-time and material strength of the Primordial Universe was terrifyingly high, after long ages, it was dismantled by those few Primordial Life forms. They transformed the dismantled matter of the Primordial Universe into origin source and then began to voraciously absorb the cosmic source.

In the end, in a corner of the Primordial Universe, they produced a glowing orb that expanded and contracted like a heart.

Rosen recognized immediately that this orb was likely the Heart of the Universe.

Around the Heart of the Universe, the surviving Primordial Life developed disputes.

It seemed everyone wanted the Heart of the Universe, but no one had the power to monopolize it. Finally, the Primordial Life reached a consensus and began to integrate some of the origin source from the dismantled Primordial Universe into the Heart of the Universe, starting to create a new universe around it.

As time progressed in the memory world, it suddenly vanished. The entire memory world dispersed like a mirage.

However, the surface of the Dark Sun where Rosen was, and the distant broken moon, did not disappear with the fading of the memory world. Instead, their struggle over him as a transit point intensified. Now, he no longer needed to actively gather the Nightfall parasitic flowers on the Dark Sun's surface to maintain balance.

The conflict between the two powers escalated, soon surpassing the tolerance limits of the Root Source Seed and Rosen's Immortal Will.

As the battle reached its peak, the Dark Sun covered with Nightfall parasitic flowers and the red moon with tentacles shrank and pierced into Rosen's brow, splitting into two and merging respectively into his two eyes.

When Rosen regained consciousness, he immediately sensed the changes within himself.

His left eye had become the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye. His right eye had become the Nightfall Eye.

As for the original Dark Sun Heavenly Eye on his brow, it transformed into the Root Dharma Eye, formed by the Root Source Seed combined with parts of the Dark Sun and Blood Moon powers.

All three eyes, without exception, were Primordial Organs.

The power of the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye was astonishingly strengthened. Now, besides releasing black Dark Sun radiance that devoured everything and could contaminate and assimilate all things, the Dark Sun's evolutionary capability was infinitely enhanced.

Through the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye, Rosen once controlled the eternal evolutionary source.

However, he never obtained the evolutionary Source Seed, so the eternal evolutionary source was difficult to acquire in large amounts, and its effect became weaker and weaker.

Now that the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye had transformed into a Primordial Organ, it successfully activated the core infinite evolutionary ability.

Through this infinite evolution, everything locked by the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye could gain infinite growth potential.

Even the Immortal Will could continue to grow through the infinite evolution of the Dark Sun.

After familiarizing himself with the changes of the Dark Sun Heavenly Eye, Rosen turned his attention to the changes in the Nightfall Eye.

The sole function of this eye was to create and control the Nightfall parasitic flowers. These parasitic flowers could infest all things and control memories. At the same time, the Nightfall parasitic flowers could produce Nightfall moonlight, a special kind of moonlight that could veil and conceal all things behind the scenes.

Finally, the Root Dharma Eye on his brow had only one function: buffering.

The battle between the Dark Sun Celestial Eye and the Eye of the Night had not ended—it merely paused because neither side could overcome the other.

In the future, either one would completely annihilate the other, or the two eyes would gradually merge into a brand-new organ through endless years of friction, using the Primordial Law Eye as a medium. If that fusion truly completed, the resulting entity might transcend even a primordial organ.

Rosen attempted to take control of the Memory World through the Eye of the Night but found he could only influence it—true control was impossible.

Even so, with the Eye of the Night, he had already discovered the truth about the Memory World.

The primordial beings wanted to destroy each other, yet they couldn't erase each other's indestructible wills. They thus chose to use the power of the Night Parasitic Flower to seal all the memories of the defeated primordial being's indestructible will within the Memory World composed of the Night Parasitic Flower.

Even those primordial beings who had successfully transcended had embedded copies of their memories into the Memory World.

Any outsider who entered the Memory World would be assimilated into it unless they could leave in time.

The final result would be to fall into an infinite loop of memories, becoming part of the Memory World.

There were two difficulty levels for escaping. The first was for those who possessed a Universe Origin Seed: they could only leave by attaining an indestructible will. The second was for those without the Origin Seed: they could only escape after being parasitized by the Night Parasitic Flower during the endless memory cycles.

Since Rosen possessed a Universe Origin Seed, he should have been trapped in the Memory World permanently.

Fortunately, he had powdered Night Parasitic Flower on hand, which gave him a certain resistance to the Memory World's cycle. That was how he barely survived, sublimated his eternal will into an indestructible one, and even managed to evolve the Dark Sun Celestial Eye into the Eye of the Night.

Though he had benefited from misfortune within the Memory World, Rosen had no intention of being grateful to the Chaos Holy God.

After leaving the Memory World, he had no plans to let the Chaos Holy God go.

With a mere thought, Rosen vanished from the Memory World and returned to reality.

He didn't know how much time had passed in the Memory World, but in reality, less than five hundred years had gone by.

That wasn't enough time for his avatars to develop independent consciousness, but to be safe, he still retrieved all his avatars. After absorbing their memories, he re-imprinted them with new ones and refreshed them entirely.

During the five hundred years he was trapped in the Memory World, the Sinful Lifeforms had already dismantled the universe down to the Tenth Star Ring.

Though the Eternal Lives of the Holy Temple had also been lured into the Memory World by his avatars, once parasitized by the Night Parasitic Flower, they all returned to reality. They didn't even realize their memories had been infected.

Thus, all memories from the Memory World had been hidden and veiled by the Night Parasitic Flower.

Because the true body was absent, Rosen's avatars had kept a low profile all these years.

The one who had acted most brazenly was actually the Lunar Holy God. Somehow, that deity had convinced the Eternal Lives of the Holy Temple to accept the Ancient Gods and the Old Fisherman and the rest. Now, the Holy Temple had become the strongest power in the universe, in name and in fact.

As for the Chaos Holy God and the Dimensional Holy God, they had gone missing in the past few centuries, just like Rosen had.

Rosen's avatars had tried various methods but found no trace of them.

Even the Old Fisherman and the others had tried summoning the Chaos and Dimensional Holy Gods from across the universe but received no response. The two had vanished shortly after Rosen was trapped in the Memory World, leading many to suspect that they, too, had been caught there.

But Rosen was certain they were not trapped in the Memory World.

He activated the Eye of the Creator. Since both his eyes had merged the Dark Sun Celestial Eye and the Eye of the Night, the Eye of the Creator—containing the essence of all ocular techniques—had also been enhanced. Yet, even under God's perspective scanning the universe, he could not locate them.

Rosen continued his search through the Heart of the Universe, attempting to track them by detecting the Origin Seeds they controlled.

So long as their Origin Seeds were drawing from the universe's source, he should at least be able to lock onto their general location.

Still, he failed. Their Origin Seeds hadn't drawn even a trace of power from the Heart of the Universe.

Now, Rosen had two choices: continue the search for the two deities, or, while they were missing, go on a frenzied campaign capturing Sinful Lifeforms to bolster his strength and force them to show themselves.

He didn't hesitate—he had already chosen the path most advantageous to himself.

But before that, he needed to restore himself to peak condition.

Rosen had originally thought that possessing an indestructible will would be rejected by the Heart of the Universe. Unexpectedly, that rejection was perfectly concealed by the Night Parasitic Flower. As long as he didn't use the indestructible will directly within the Heart, it could be completely masked without a trace.

Over the years, all the Forbidden Zones in the universe had been divided up.

Rosen, along with the Old Fisherman and others, had claimed a full third of the Eternal World with just their avatars.

So now he lacked no source power and could soon return to his peak via the Miracle Star Sea.

And thanks to mastering the indestructible will and holding two primordial organs, he no longer feared even the Ancient Gods. Likely only the Chaos and Dimensional Holy Gods could still make him wary—until he confronted them directly.

Deep within the Sea of Miracle Origins, Rosen frowned as he sensed the repulsion of certain origin energies.

Since forming his indestructible will, he had merged one unit each of life origin and divinity origin into it. But the total capacity of indestructible will had already been reached—he could no longer fuse additional source power unless he degraded it back into eternal will.

But indestructible will could not be reversed. On the contrary, he would do everything in his power to further strengthen it.

Yet his life and divinity origins also needed to be restored to their peak states. The only way to do that was to reacquire eternal will and use it to grow his reserves.

In recent years, the Ancient Gods had transformed the True Realm into a miniature universe, fusing more than two hundred Eternal Worlds into it.

Rosen, using the feedback from serving as the will of the world, would be able to quickly reacquire enough eternal will.
