The day passed somewhat calmly, other than the eerie and dark ghostly aura that Yoru saw yesterday, it was pretty mundane.
He was not expecting that being taken in by elves and watched twenty-four seven all day and night could be so... Relaxing?
They could have atleast concealed themselves.
Waking up, he noticed a fresh and new tray of food.
Some bread, surprisingly, a cup of the freshest and tastiest water he's ever had, and some vegetables and meat.
Yoru always wondered how the elves grow crops so high up in the air, surely it was hard to come by, right?
He would have been fine with just the small slice of meat and the water.
...
I savored the taste of the food, taking a bite and chewing slowly.
The bread wasn't soft and it tasted like cardboard, but when accompanied by the sweet vegetables and fruits...
I imagined tears running down my cheek from the delightful flavors it brought to my tongue, however I was unable to tear up.
Looking at the small slice of meat, I picked it up and took a bite out of it letting the juices coat my tongue before biting g a big chunk out of the bread.
Another delightful taste!
If this alone tasted good, who knows what the royalties and higher-ups were having!
Thud.
Thud.
"..."
Pausing the feast of my delightful, but somehow low class and mundane breakfast, I turned my head towards the door.
Their were footsteps approaching but it seemed to have stopped just right beside the thin sliding doors.
I would have seen a silhouette if they stopped upfront but it seems they were thinking of something before knocking it seemed...
"Who's there?"
"Gasp."
I called out, and a gasp responded, muffled by the thin wooden walls.
There was another short moment of silence before a shadow appeared on the flimsy sliding doors.
"M– May I come in?"
The voice of a girl was familiar, and also why was she asking for me to come in? I'm in custody here.
"You may?"
The door slid open and there revealed the same young elven girl from before.
It looked like she had something on her mind and that she wanted to ask or say something, turning to my food, I quickly finished it and drank the fresh water.
Shortly after doing so, the little elven girl finally spoke:
"You're being called to meet the elders, sir."
I was not surprised, I would have expected them to call me again sometime soon to ask more details and questions.
But two things were on my mind.
Calling me sir... Who knows how much older she is than me?
And.
There seems to be wariness in her eyes, uncertainty? Suspicion? I thought I dealt with it already the other day?
Something seems to have happened, maybe it was related to the thick ghostly aura filled with evil intent.
I sighed and stood up.
"Mind taking me to where they are then will you?"
***
I followed the little girl through the streets or platform bridges and whatever.
It was the perfect time to look around, and so I did with blazing intent.
I was not brought to the same hall where I was first questioned, and it's surroundings were less populated.
We crossed several floating bridges and the ones held by magic vines and branches until we reached a different part of the tree.
There was an elevator, the old ones held by wood and vines.
I guess anything can be made just like from my world as long as there was magic...
Stepping onto the elevator, I got a few curious glances from the other elves. They haven't seen me of course, I was brought from a different entrance point and I was never allowed to wander.
The elevator went up a few platform, it was surprisingly stable and sturdy.
After a bit, we arrived at the top, not exactly the highest point of the tree but the highest where the elves could reach and survive.
Any higher and they probably couldn't handle the wind...
The kid was calm the entire walk, leasing me through a long and big branch that went over the tree across which also was part of Aeloria.
"The Architecture is incredible..."
I mumbled out without myself knowing.
The little elven girl giggled and answered:
"We are proud of it, the ancestors, the elders and the latest generation of elves are."
***
After crossing the huge branch, we stepped into another elevator, going down and then going on another long walk.
It felt like eternity and my legs were aching a bit but we finally arrived.
Judging by how it was built, it was definitely the main building to hold meetings and discussions.
There is but only one problem however...
The thick ghostly aura that I've felt far away the entire walk was now stronger, and it was filling up the entire building.
It reeked...
"You may enter first."
The girl offered and gave me a weak push behind my back.
I sighed and readied myself, putting on my cold and emotionless facade... which was always on twenty four seven...
Opening the door I stepped inside, trying not to be bothered by the increased evil intent of whatever spirit was within.
I entered the main hall and was greeted by the sight of many elders and higher ups, much more than there was before I was questioned.
However my eyes darted to three figures.
I stared at a tall red hairs boy who seemed to be four years older than I was, and the one by his side had pale red hair and a deadpan look towards me.
The third figure...
I didn't stare straight at it, nor did I even think about it currently, emptying my mind of all thoughts as if it wasn't there.
The room was silent as me and the two other human boy locked eyes.
My eyes stared at the two and the two of them stared back at me. The silence was long and odd, which was doubled for me due to the extra presence...
But suddenly, my head clicked with an assuming guess and an idea to keep my identity safe.
And it seemed that the two of them must have had the same thought as me, the taller one having wide eyed and one with pale red hair having his mouth agape slightly.
The three humans surely must have had the same thought in their minds.
He's not from here is he?
