Yuuna and the others stirred from their sleep, the cold air biting at their skin. But something felt... wrong.
Hina was gone.
"She's not here…" Yuuna murmured, eyes wide with disbelief.
Without wasting another second, they sprang up, stumbling over the snow and dead branches scattered across the frostbitten ground.
Their hearts raced in sync, thumping like war drums.
"Hina!!" Nagisa shouted, her voice cracking as she cupped her hands over her mouth, trying to project it further.
The sound echoed into the emptiness, fading into the thick, unmoving mist that surrounded the area.
But no matter how many times she screamed, the only thing that answered back was silence.
The kind that makes your gut churn.
"Where did she go?!" Nagisa cried out, voice trembling with frustration and fear.
"Out of all of us…" Yuuna began, her brows furrowed tightly, "…she was the most desperate. If I had to guess, I'd say she didn't rest at all. She must've stayed up all night, searching. Alone."
