Chapter 327 - Chapter 327, Pluck Feathers for Soup

Chapter 327, Pluck Feathers for Soup

Seeing Sheila Grey's curious gaze.

Wu Heng was also taken aback, "What other people?"

Sheila Grey looked at him in confusion, "Didn't you bring a squad over?"

"No time!"

After he said this, Sheila Grey and the others frowned, staring at him.

One person killed this many pirates?

The entire sea was stained red.

Not to mention whether other deputy stewards could do it, even Steward Imiro might not dare come out alone to rescue people, right?

This was a bit too unusual.

Sheila Grey continued to ask, "Didn't the steward come with you?"

"No, I'll explain when we get back. First, go check on this ship and see if it's still operational," Wu Heng said directly.

"Alright," Sheila Grey nodded.

She ordered the others to start inspecting the ship.

Meanwhile, the battles on the other pirate ships had also ended.

Bodies were dragged out from the holds and laid flat on the decks.

Wu Heng converted them all into skeletons, then began transporting the pirates' supplies and money.

...…

Several ships were connected together.

A large amount of cargo was moved into Wu Heng's ship's hold, including supplies, some gold coins, and a few large barrels of silver coins.

It seemed pirates loved storing silver coins in barrels.

Every pirate group they defeated had barrels filled with silver.

Piles of supplies were stacked into the hold.

Beyond the Guild's bounty, these ships and the supplies in the holds were a considerable gain to take back.

Returning to the deck.

Sharktooth led a few skeletons, salvaging submerged items from the sea.

Losses were inevitable.

But some coins could still be salvaged for continued use.

Before long, a squad member approached.

"Deputy steward Wu Heng, we've inspected the pirate ships; three can sail after repairs, but one will need towing back."

There were four pirate ships left in total, and they definitely intended to take them back.

The ships were the most valuable spoils.

"Then let's tow it back."

"Understood." The squad member went to prepare.

Once everything was ready.

They gave the order to set sail for the return trip.

The ships formed a convoy, heading back towards Gold-Silver Island.

...…

On deck.

The sea breeze howled, with splashing waves falling like raindrops.

Sheila Grey leaned on the railing, her golden hair fluttering in the wind, and said, "How did you know we were in danger?"

"The steward set out to meet you a few days ago. I hadn't heard any updates, so I used a tracking item to come look for you," Wu Heng said directly.

Sheila Grey nodded, "Thank you. If you hadn't come, we might've been in real danger."

Wu Heng smiled and waved it off, "No need to thank me. We're all comrades, helping each other is natural! If I'm ever in trouble, I'm sure you'd come to save me too."

A smile appeared on Sheila Grey's dirty face, "True, you're definitely different from other necromancers; you just feel different."

"I'll take that as a compliment," Wu Heng replied, then quickly added, "By the way, my tracking item needed something personal of yours to follow your location. I ended up taking an item from your office and accidentally broke the door."

Sheila Grey waved it off, "No problem. I'll just have someone repair it. What did you take?"

Wu Heng held up the headband, "A headband, here it is."

Sheila Grey looked surprised, "I've been looking for that headband for a while; I didn't even remember where I left it. Hmm… better keep it with you. Next time I'm in trouble, you won't have to break down the door."

"That works," Wu Heng tucked it away again, and Sheila Grey smiled.

Wu Heng leaned on the railing, continuing, "Just don't go sailing off again; it's too dangerous."

"The Guild gave us a quota. You think I wanted this? Now the ship's damaged, too. I don't even know how to explain it to the steward when we get back," Sheila Grey sighed.

Wu Heng thought for a moment and said, "We just took down two pirate captains, one of whom was a level-three wanted criminal. When we report it, let's consider it a team kill to fulfill your quota."

Sheila Grey looked up at him, "Is that okay? This credit should belong to you."

A solo kill on a record was rated differently than a team kill.

Two deputy stewards with two squads taking down two pirate groups.

While it fulfilled the quota,

it didn't look as impressive.

"A record doesn't matter."

"That's true, but inflating achievements isn't allowed in the Guild."

"What inflation? You and your squad members participated too, so it's not inflated."

Sheila Grey hesitated, glancing at the other squad members.

They had accompanied her, nearly lost their lives, and hadn't gained much. It felt unfair.

She eventually nodded, "Alright, thank you."

"Don't mention it."

"I'll go tell everyone so there won't be any issues later," Sheila Grey said, then headed over to inform her squad members.

She explained the situation.

The squad members expressed their thanks to Wu Heng.

Wu Heng smiled and nodded.

He didn't say much more.

...…

Iron Barrel Pirates.

Phillipa sat in the captain's cabin, grinning as she emptied her spatial ring.

Various supplies, a big bag of gold coins, and two large barrels full of silver coins.

Phillipa's face was full of joy at her haul.

"Damn, being a pirate is the life!"

Unlike the startup money Wu Heng had given her, this money was all from her own kills and loot.

Pirates should act like pirates.

No money feels as secure as the kind you plunder yourself.

Humming a tune, she stashed all the supplies.

Then, her gaze landed on an iron cage on the table.

Inside the cage was a green-feathered, plump parrot.

Its feathers were plucked in patches, looking like it was ready for the pot.

Phillipa pulled out a dagger, stabbing it into the wooden table with a clang.

She squinted at the parrot with a malicious look and said, "Alright, chicken, here are your choices: stew or roast."

She licked her lips as she finished speaking.

The green parrot shuddered, shrieking, "Ally, pirate treaty!"

"Your ally is very hungry right now."

The green parrot flapped its wings, crying, "No way, traitor!"

"Didn't realize you could understand so much," Phillipa remarked curiously.

She knew the parrot could talk but didn't expect it to understand this much.

Thinking for a moment, she added, "You saw too much today. You're not leaving here alive."

"Ally! Ally!" the parrot shouted, shaking its head wildly.

"If you join our pirate crew, I won't eat you."

The parrot paused, tilting its head as if it didn't quite understand.

Phillipa picked up the dagger again.

The parrot immediately became alert, shrieking, "Captain, great captain!"

Phillipa leaned close to the cage, staring at the parrot, "You'll be my trained bird, but if you fail, you're getting plucked and stewed."

The parrot spread its wings, pressing against the back of the cage, filled with terror.
