Chapter 24 - 20: The Unforeseen Simulation Joint Incident - 1

I'm occasionally chilling in JaxWolf4's (Author of Nah, I'd Adapt) Discord Server. It's a chaotic lobotomy mess. Not for the faint of heart.

-Story Start-

May 13th, 2234.

Morning.

It was a beautiful morning, the sun had risen considerably over the blue horizon, the clouds were a puffy blanket of white, and the city streets of Musutafu were abuzz with activity.

However, some places were a bit more... lively than others:

The gates of U.A. were swarmed by stubborn reporters as they had always been, or so it had lately felt like.

The uniformed figures of Yuji and Aoi casually strolled past them, as a routine.

Yet, every now and then, the common invasive reporter would-

A voice called out to the strolling figure of Yuji with a light, familiar tone, "Hey there, Itadori-kun! Mind telling me how your last class with All Might was?"

Turning to the reporter, with a smile, Yuji replied with ease as a camera and microphone were practically shoved into his face, "Muscles and enthusiasm, I guess? He's just as amazing as you'd expect! Not a really good teacher though." He asserted with a light chuckle.

The reporter's slited eyes glinted, his quirk at work, perhaps, as he roared with excitement:

"Magnificent!"

"Sensational!"

"A Hero like All Might being incapable of teaching, what a positively endearing flaw! Indeed! Indeed!" He rapidly nodded to himself as he praised with an almost fanatic reverence.

He pressed on, "Care to elaborate on what gave you such a conclusi-"

Aoi stepped in, his expression chiselled, stoic, and intimidating, "Classified. We are late to our class, if you would excuse us-"

Unfazed, the slit-eyed reporter focused on Yuji, "Surely there is something you can share-?"

Aoi cut him off this time, trying a different angle, "Indeed. Prove to me that you are subscribed to Takada's YouTube Channel, and I might indulge you."

Yuji's smile lowered to a clear deadpan, "I thought we were late for class?"

"Tardiness can be forgiven with utilized opportunity." Aoi retorted with a smirk and confident nod.

"Sounds like a whole load of crap to me," A brash and impatient tone joined the two of them and the reporter who isolated them, having arrived just now.

Turning to address the eternally frowning expression of Bakugo, Aoi answered with mirth, "Barks from a beaten dog are of an even lesser value."

Clicking his tongue as Aoi had rubbed salt on his wounds for the umpteenth time since his loss with Todoroki, he approached the reporter who was just now subscribing to Takada, only to bark out, "Oi, background extras."

It was almost alarming how the reporter and his camera man immediately recognized that they were being addressed, directing their attention at the scowling Bakugo.

"Don't you good-for-nothing adults have something better to do than beg for crumbs? Kiss my ass and scram!" He roared, loud enough for all the swarming reporters to hear him as well as the cornered U.A. Students.

Unfortunately, his loud barking, as Aoi had forewarned, wasn't enough to ward off the determined pests.

Much to Bakugo's mounting frustration, "Tsk, whatever." He decided to march on towards the school, his steps muffled amid the swiftly continued questioning of students and staff.

Blinking his slitted eyes, the reporter beside Yuji and Aoi admitted, "That is certainly not a demeanor fitting of a Hero!"

"Perhaps, but subscribing to Takada-chan is indeed most Heroic."

"Can you be less blatant, dude?"

"I refuse."

-------------------------------

The first class of the day was almost always a short homeroom with Aizawa.

Class 1-A was filled to the brim with all the students in their designated seats awaiting his 'flashy' arrival.

One of Yuji's neighbors and his designated Teacher in the ways of Poverty.

Sprawled out on her desk like a bag of potatoes, Uraraka groaned, "I think I'm starting to dislike All Might, just a bit."

Her neighbors and even those seated a bit away gasped loudly - Yuji included.

"Blasphemy," Tokoyami muttered with his usual cold and gloomy tone.

Mineta agreed from afar, "I mean, I got past my height insecurity back in fifth grade, so there's little to dislike about 'God' himself."

Kaminari chuckled, "You're exaggerating, dude."

Mineta's lips lifted to a mocking sneer, "My brother in Quirk! His punches change the weather! I throw sticky balls! There's no way we're the same species!"

He added fervently, "Besides, who else changes the weather? 'God', therefore, All Might is 'God'."

"There are quirks that change the weather, you know-"

Mineta waved him off, "Semantics, All Might's also probably a fifty-year-old virgin too, he's got that pure and divine aura-" A resonating, sharp pain on the top of his head cut him off from his uncouth words.

He turned to glare at the source, only to see it was the disappointed figure of Aoi who threw an oddly sturdy eraser on his head in chastisement.

"Remember juvie, Cousin."

A shiver went down Mineta's spine, reminding him of the additional training session he somehow agreed to following their joint victory over Todoroki and Bakugo.

In any case...

"STOP IT! WE'RE NOT RELATED!"

"You wound me, Cousin..." A tear trickled down Aoi's distraught expression.

Uraraka huffed, explaining her prior blasphemous claim, "Can you blame me? It's been more than a week with these reporters bugging us. And since his announcement to be a teacher, All Might's been less active, leading to public transport prices in Musutafu rising by 5%."

"Disconcertingly accurate financial data aside... she's right, they are quite off-putting and stubborn." Yaoyorozu nodded in agreement.

Toru shrugged, playfully mentioning, "I don't mind, I'm pretty used to crowds."

"Toru-chan, you're invisible ribbit."

"I know~!"

"No wonder the bus drive was so expensive... as expected of you, Uraraka-sensei!" Yuji's eyes widened with clear realization.

"It's just a 5% increase, though?" Yaoyorozu innocently added.

"5% isn't a lot." Todoroki chimed in from the side.

This time, it was Aoi's turn to explain to the pure, rich girl, "As my brother likes to term it, 'A percentage increase of a lot would mean a lot of increase, or something', he could word it more eloquently, but it delivers the message accurately."

"I hate math." Yuji nodded firmly at Aoi's rather precise interpretation of his prior statements.

Quite odd how he remembers every single sentence he has ever uttered since they met.

"O-Oh." Yaoyoruzu finally got the message that some of her classmates were in rather dire straits in terms of economic status.

"Enough chit-chat." A loud, demanding monotone voice called out that was, paradoxically, rather intimidating.

Aizawa sprang up from a cocoon of yellow, appearing behind the podium in front of the classroom, seemingly having rolled into the classroom. stealthily.

As always, his sudden appearance and voice were a source of surprise, but his sneakiness had become routine.

With his emergence, it was a sign for all racket to cease, as all eyes turned to the rather dead-inside teacher.

Noting that he had everyone's eyes and ears, he cut to the chase, "Today you will be picking a Class President and Vice President. You all get one vote per person." He pulled out a vote box out of his sulphur-colored cocoon, continuing, "First place is President, second is Vice. You all have thirty minutes to pick, good luck, and no violence." His last sentence was a barb aimed at a particular student.

Having enthusiastically done his job, Aizawa proceeded to roll out of the classroom, intentionally leaving the door open for his exit.

...

The air began to shift, turning almost electrifying in excitement as the students of 1-A processed their teacher's swift announcement.

Yet the first to react was:

"I ain't doing it," Mineta announced aloud with a thin line on his face.

""No one's voting for you.""

An excitable thirty minutes, in an overwhelmingly competitive class.

They all knew well how pretty the title of 'Hero Program Class President Of U.A.' would look in their resume and future career as a Hero.

Even Vice-President ain't all shabby.

They all looked forward to their future, and some of them, who had realistic expectations of their Quirks, could use any advantage available to them to reach their goals.

Indeed, it was a dog-eat-dog world.

As Yuga Aoyama would say:

"Twinkle for the stars, PLUS ULTRA!" - Yuga Aoyama, five seconds before a crippling tummy ache during U.A's Entrance Exams.

-------------------------------

Aizawa stood with his usual deadpan, having shed his pee-colored cocoon to stand with a semi-dignified slouch in front of his students.

He was ready to announce the results, and his expression showed little surprise at the actual results as he began sketching them out silently at the whiteboard behind him:

[Class 1-A President & Vice President Vote Results]:

[1st - Aoi Todo - 3 Votes]

[2nd - Momo Yaoyorozu - 2 Votes]

[3rd - Yuji Itadori - 2 Votes]

[4th - Katsuki Bakugo - 1 Vote]

[6th - Mezo Shoji - 1 Vote]

[7th - Mina Ashido - 1 Vote]

[14th - Toru Hagakure - 1 Vote]

[15th - Denki Kaminari - 1 Vote]

[16th - Shoto Todoroki - 1 Vote]

[17th - Tenya Ida - 0 Votes]

[18th - Tsuyu Asui - 0 Votes]

[19th - Eijiro Kirishima - 0 Votes]

[20th - Minoru Mineta - 0 Votes]

The reactions were instantaneous:

Rising up from his seat with clear distraught, Ida pointed sharply at the smirking Aoi, "H-How?!"

"Democracy."

Shaking his head rapidly, Ida added, "I find it absurd someone of your violent and thuggish behavior was chosen as Class President!" He turned to look at the rest of the classmates who some of whom also appeared with mixed feelings regarding the result, "Who voted for him?!"

Yuji immediately lifted his hand, "I did."

And as if some telepathy had occurred between the brothers, Aoi lifted his hand as well, "Is it not obvious I would vote for myself, as most of you did as well?"

Ida's eyes sharpened, "That makes two-"

"Shut the fuck up extra, you're in no position to demand anyone for answers." Bakguo barked with a little extra fury, unpleased with the fact that he wasn't chosen for either President or Vice President.

"Nah, it's fine, I voted for him as well." Another raised his hand and admitted.

However, it was a short raised hand, as Mineta was revealed as the person who put the nail in the coffin of Aoi's position as Class President.

"Why?" He calmly inquired, his voice kept artificially steady.

Ida could understand Yuji and Aoi's reasons for voting for the latter, but Mineta.

Except for the whole, odd, rather horrifying in hindsight 'Cousin' allegations, he could not find an actual viable, logical reason for Aoi to be Mineta's choice.

And in all honesty?

It was Ida's own fault for expecting a good answer.

"Why?" Mineta repeated innocently with a tilt of his head.

He shrugged, pointing a finger at himself, "I knew there was no way I'd get picked, so it was either you, PinkMight or big tit-" Aoi and Aizawa's glare stopped Mineta mid-sentence.

Much to Yaoyorozu's innocence, she was wholly clueless as to his uncompleted sentence.

Correcting himself, Mineta continued, "Or Yaoyorozu-san, or Gorilla."

"And you chose him over me, Itadori-san or Yaoyorozu-san?! Why?! I wouldn't protest their triumph, but Todo-san is unfit for the position of Class President!" He asserted his belief.

He then turned to the rest of the classroom, catching onto the ongoing, "As for the rest of you, how shameless! Voting for yourselves?!"

"You snooze, you lose! Blegh!" Ashido rudely retorted

But then, the temperature dropped significantly.

Mineta's lips curled up slowly, disturbingly, forming a manic, horrifying grin that stretched across his entire face, as he answered Ida's burning question:

"TO MAKE YOU LOSE~!"

And the worst part of this chilling sentence that reverberated across the disturbed classroom?

Aoi had a similar shit-eating grin on his face as Mineta had.

...

"I don't know if I should be offended about not being 'in' on this whole operation or not," Yuji admitted with a scratch of his chin.
