The Kangaskhan let out a powerful roar as strength surged through her body. With newfound energy, she lifted the mechanical arm in front of her and pushed it back with tremendous force.
BOOM!!!
The mechanical arm crashed into the body of the robot Kangaskhan, causing it to shudder violently. Ash and Pikachu heard the impact and raised their heads simultaneously, their expressions becoming serious. In that moment, their movements seemed perfectly synchronized.
"Pikachu, you can still fight!"
"Pika!"
Pikachu lowered his body and focused his gaze intently. Ash adjusted the brim of his hat and stared ahead determinedly. This moment of crisis seemed to deepen the bond between them. Though they hadn't tapped into their full power, something awakened in Ash's mind.
"Hmph! We're not afraid of Pikachu. We're fully prepared this time," Jessie sneered from inside the mechanical Kangaskhan, which had stabilized itself.
Team Rocket had anticipated Ash and Pikachu's arrival and implemented all necessary countermeasures.
"Let's go, Pikachu! Use Pika Papow!!"
Ash wasn't sure how to explain what he was feeling. He hadn't consciously activated their bond power, yet his mind had suddenly cleared, and the name of a move he'd never heard before materialized in his thoughts.
"Pi-KA!"
Upon hearing Ash's command, Pikachu leapt skyward, instantly soaring higher than the mechanical Kangaskhan.
Powerful electric currents surged across his entire body as dark clouds gathered overhead, dimming the sky as though a heavy storm was approaching.
"CHUUUUU!!!"
After a brief pause, Pikachu released a final cry as the electrical energy concentrated around him discharged completely. A thunderous roar echoed through the air as several lightning bolts struck the ground around the mechanical Kangaskhan.
The impact created deep craters in the earth, while the pattern of lightning formed an electric cage, trapping the robot inside. Team Rocket scrambled to activate defensive measures, but a sense of impending doom washed over them.
"PIKA-CHUUUUU!!!!"
As Pikachu continued to channel and control his power, the lightning strikes around the perimeter suddenly converged toward the center.
BOOM!!!!
All the electricity gathered at a single point, forming a massive beam of concentrated lightning that surged skyward. Under this overwhelming electrical assault, Team Rocket's anti-electricity system reached its breaking point.
BOOM!!!
The entire mechanical Kangaskhan exploded spectacularly, creating a tremendous blast within the lightning storm.
Smoke and flames filled the air as Pikachu descended from the sky, breathing heavily from the exertion.
Three figures were launched from the fiery explosion, soaring through the air and disappearing into the distance.
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!"
"Pikachu truly is the Pokemon we should have been focusing on all along!" James lamented. "Despite all our preparations, we still couldn't withstand its Electric attack!"
"That settles it—next time we must capture Pikachu first," Jessie agreed. They finally realized that rare Pokemon were abundant, but the Pikachu that repeatedly defeated them was truly exceptional.
"What a shocking conclusion!" Meowth added as they vanished from sight.
"Great job, Pikachu!!" Ash called out proudly. Pikachu turned excitedly and leapt into Ash's arms.
The Kangaskhan watched Ash and Pikachu with grateful eyes, clearly pleased by the depth of their bond. Just then, a figure came running toward them.
"Kangaskhan!!" It was Tomo, who had heard the commotion and rushed over immediately. Surveying the scene, he realized a battle had taken place, and concern filled his face.
"Kanga! Kanga!"
The Kangaskhan reacted joyfully to Tatsuo's voice. At the same time, the baby Kangaskhan rescued by Ash and his friends returned to its mother. They were finally reunited and safe. The Kangaskhan carefully placed her baby back into her pouch before approaching Ash and Pikachu.
After learning how Ash and the others had saved her child, the Kangaskhan expressed profound gratitude. Pikachu quickly responded, explaining through gestures that the Kangaskhan had once saved him when he was small, and he was simply repaying that kindness. Even if it hadn't been this particular Kangaskhan's baby, they would have helped regardless.
Suddenly, the sound of whirring blades cut through the air. Everyone looked up to see a helicopter descending slowly from the sky.
After landing, two peculiarly dressed figures emerged from the aircraft. They were Tomo's parents, but they had shed their expensive modern clothing in favor of animal hide garments, resembling people living in the wild.
"Tomo!!"
"Dad... Mom?!" Tomo stared at his parents in disbelief, then glanced at the Kangaskhan beside him. Since leaving home, memories of his past had been returning, and he recognized the two people before him as his parents. Yet he was reluctant to leave the Kangaskhan who had cared for him.
"Don't be afraid, Tomo. From now on, your parents will stay here with you," his mother announced. Her unusual attire reflected her newfound determination.
Tomo's father had made the same decision—to abandon his life in the modern city for his son's sake and remain in the wilderness with him.
Whether or not they were biological father and son, his actions spoke of profound love.
"Dad! Mom!!" Hearing this, Tomo was overcome with emotion and ran toward his parents. The family embraced tightly, tears of joy streaming down their faces as they reunited at last.
"That's so touching! Waaah!" Misty couldn't help wiping away tears, and neither could Brock.
Though his own family situation remained complicated, Brock still hoped his younger siblings could experience this same feeling of familial reunion someday.
"Kanga! Kanga!"
"Pika?! Pika-pi!!"
Suddenly, the Kangaskhan approached Pikachu and called out to him. Pikachu looked up at the Kangaskhan with confusion and surprise, then quickly signaled something in response. Ash and the others couldn't understand their conversation, but they watched as the Kangaskhan suddenly scooped up Ash in a gentle embrace.
She placed him carefully on her shoulder. Other Kangaskhan from the herd came forward, lifting Brock and Misty and setting them on their shoulders as well.
"Ah! What's happening?" Misty asked, startled and confused.
"I think they're taking us somewhere!" Ash replied. He didn't know what the Kangaskhan had told Pikachu, but if Pikachu was willing to go along, he saw no reason not to find out where they were being led.
