Yanghu smiled wryly "Take care of Milk and the boys in our stead"
Lujin gritted his teeth "We'll do our best to stop them from coming to you"
Carrie shakily said "Molly, tell my grandchild that Granny loves her"
Molly shouted "Mum! You guys should hold on! Please!!"
But the call was cut off before she could say anything else
Yilao stood up and walked towards the main entrance but Jack pulled her back and shook his head "It is a four hours drive from here and even if you guys do get there in time, you're all in no condition to fight fifty superpowered men who definitely have better fighting techniques than you guys also you outnumbered on a large scale, not to be rude but-"
Yilao shook his hand off as she sobbed and yelled "So you expect me to just let Dad, Uncle and Aunt die like that! Due to our incompetence!!"
Wilson went to the side to call Gaeul and Molly asked Lane "Is there anyway we can contact Ian?"
Lane sadly shook his head "They're underground probably by a lot of depth by now and don't know what's happening on the surface, I just hope these shadowmen haven't reached them"
Yilao heard that and asked Lane "Do you know who sent these people or why they are after us!? What did we ever do to them!!"
Lane sighed "No but Ian might have an idea though he himself is probably not sure or he would have told me and Paw that night he encountered the one which has been tailing us from home"
Molly asked as she looked at Yilao "What about Kelvin and Shawn? What if they got to them too!!"
Yilao hurriedly dialed Kevin's number but a strong breeze blew past and two people appeared in front of her "Kelvin! Shawn!"
Kelvin took a breather as he placed the unconscious Shawn on a table "I went out to get something and came back only to meet Shawn on the ground unconscious and three shadowmen about to kill him so I grabbed him and sped ouy of there but what happened to you guys and where's Ian?"
The others were exhausted and downcast while Wilson to be the emotional supporter so Jack explained the whole thing to Kelvin
Kelvin stumbled back "Damnit, Ian was right?"
Yilao and Molly asked in unison "About what?"
Kelvin looked at them and sighed "I don't know how they did it but they found us"
Yilao was in thought but Molly was confused so was Jack who asked "Who found us?"
Kelvin sighed as he ruffled his hair in frustration "The one who killed Qilin, Azlin, Andre, Zach and Sean. The person found us and now they want to kill us"
Yilao was stunned so were the others "Y-you're saying my brother's, brother-in-law and their friends deaths were planned assassination??"
Kelvin nodded "So the thing is, the night of the whole murder incident, me and Shawn received a note to give up Milk or die but obviously we couldn't do we decided to run away, gave an excuse to the family that we should all leave Arizona because it had bad memories and should try to make new ones in a new place for Milk. Somehow, while we were packing, Milk found that letter during one of the times he wasn't having his PTSD breakdown and found out that his parents death was planned. He changed his name to try and forget and also to not put us in danger, he also somehow learnt how to hack so he could erase our footsteps on the Internet. We've stayed hidden all this while but they still got to us"
Yilao was astonished by another thing "Milk can hack!?"
Kelvin nodded then Yilao looked at Lane who anxiously avoided her gaze "Was he the one that dealt with those news stations?"
Lane agreed "Yeah, he didn't want Grandpa Yanghu, Mum and Dad to worry"
Molly sighed "Speaking of Mum and Dad and Uncle, they're in big trouble and we don't know what's happening to them right now"
Yilao explained the whole ordeal to Kelvin who sat on a chair and held his forehead "I don't know if I'll be able to reach there in time, even if I could, I can't take anyone with me. If a mind ability user hits me, I'll just get dragged along and make things worse for them also you guys are in bad shape"
Dorian looked at the tunnels "Come on, let's pick a path and start moving"
Feliz gulped "W-what if it is a labyrinth?"
Paul stated "Better a labyrinth than a beast's nest"
Dorian remarked "I beg to differ"
Paul scrunched up his face and flicked Dorian's forehead "We're in no condition to fight anything or anyone"
They chose the third tunnel and Paul switched on the torch then Feliz said "It's so dark, the torch is only lighting up a meter in front of us, if something comes, we won't be able to see it"
Dorian was on his guard as he said "But we'll be able to hear it"
Paul held Feliz's hand "Dorian, hold Feliz's hand that way everyone can stay together and be ready for anything"
Dorian nodded "Good thinking, he is the most useless one here with him in the middle, we can successfully defend any attack from the front and the back"
Paul used the torch to hit Dorian's shoulder "Don't say that, he's the reason you're walking"
Dorian shrugged "He's also the reason I got injured in the first place, if he had some ability, he wouldn't have almost gotten eaten by that snake"
Paul stated "He did not ask to be in any of this, he-"
Feliz politely cut him off "I-it's fine, he's right, I am useless"
Paul sighed "It's not your fault, we're the odd ones here also you're not useless"
Dorian heard something "Paw, stop!"
Paul instantly stood his ground then Dorian switched the torch and let go of Feliz "You two, stay here"
Feliz asked "Why didn't he go forward with the light? It's pitch dark"
Paul stated as he stood at alert and placed Feliz behind him then backed off to the wall but made sure they didn't touch it "He has partial night vision, he can only see at night when it's pitch dark meaning no light"
Dorian sighed and switched on the touch in Paul's hand who flinched at first but when he saw Dorian, he calmed down "So there is a snake nest or whatever they call it, not much just about five but they are as big as pythons. They're all asleep though so we have two options"
Paul inquired and Feliz peeked out from behind him "What?"
Dorian cleared his throat "We either sneak past them quietly with no light or we wake them up, use Feline as a bait to gather them up and I use my portal ability to send them to the water ehh?"
Paul raised an eyebrow "Using Feliz as bait? The other option is a definite no no because me and Feliz cannot see in the dark and there's no way you can guide both of us perfectly out of there and if one wakes up, I won't be able to see it to use my ability on it"
Dorian chuckled "Okay I was joking about using Feline as a bait, I can use my psychic ability to throw them into the portal but I cant lift them all at once so I might still need Feline to be a bait because when one is awake, the others will wake up too"
Paul refuted "That won't work either, you'll just exhaust yourself and you know what happens when you do. Just let me help you, I still have strength"
Dorian wanted to say something but Paul knocked him out as he held him and softly said "I'm tired of you doing everything and treating me like a weakling when clearly I am capable"
Paul placed Dorian in Feliz's arms "Take care of him"
Paul took the second torch light and left while Feliz asked "T-take care? what do you mean?!"
Kelvin stood up "I'm going to see if I can save them even if it's one of them"
Yilao asked "What if you-"
A voice spoke up "I'll go with him"
The others turned around to look and Kelvin rushed to him "Babe, you're awake!"
Shawn gritted his teeth as he sat up "The one with the mind ability who knocked me out was Sean, I heard his voice"
The others were shocked even Wilson and Lane asked with surprise "Uncle Sean? Uncle Qilin's best friend?"
Molly looked downcast "He was Bro Azlin and Bro Andre's childhood friend and adopted brother, it can't be him"
Shawn stated "He was also my friend, I couldn't have mistaken his voice besides he told me himself who he was and that he has been on their side from the beginning, he works for someone and that person is the conspirator of Qilin and the twins' death but.."
Jack asked "But what?"
Shawn looked at all of them with tears welling up in his eyes "Zach's alive but he is held hostage by the mastermind behind all this, Sean even told me where they were"
Molly asked "Did Sean tell you that?"
Shawn nodded and Yilao scoffed "What if he was lying to get us to come there under his master's orders?"
Shawn wiped his tears "We are still going to have to go there to get Zach whether it's a trap or not, he is the only one left of Qilin and Azlin save for Milk and also where is he?"
Yilao sighed "Trapped in an underground temple with Paul on a quest for some hidden treasure quest or whatever"
Shawn furrowed his eyebrows "Sean also told me that his master was also searching for a kind of vial that had the power to resurrect the dead"
Lane released his hammer and pushed it towards the grown-ups "We got this from a box that Ian took from a thief who stole it from somewhere. There was an umbrella and a set of knives which we dropped our blood and became huge. The umbrella is with Paw and the set of knives is with Ian. We wanted to go to the temple to see what it held after we also found a one time transportation scroll in the straw bag Ian took from a shadowmen he killed. But I stayed back to take care of Lala while they went ahead with it. They left just yesterday midnight"
Yilao yelled "Now you tell us the full story!? You only mentioned that Ian and Paw went on an adventure underground to find some treasure because of a treasure map, you also said they left right before you guys got attacked. They've been gone for almost half a day, it's morning already"
Lane flinched "I'm sorry, I just didn't know how to say it at first"
Molly examined the hammer "Laolao, Lan was just scared so let it be but don't these characters look somehow familiar to you?"
Yilao bent down and the others gathered around her "These are ancient Chinese characters written in the form of a runic pattern. It can absorb energy poured in by the user but if overused will drain the user's life"
Lane was shocked "Eh??"
Yilao waved her hands "Not to worry, as long as you don't send your vitality into it, it won't drain you"
Lane sighed in relief then stated "Ian and Paw don't know that"
Yilao said "They also don't know how to channel their vitality into a weapon so there's nothing to worry about but we should go get them"
Shawn hurriedly said "We can't, the temple is a confusing place full of dangers. They would have probably reached somewhere but if we go in, we might miss ourselves in the labyrinth and then all of us would get in trouble. Lane, you said they had a one time teleportation scroll?"
Lane nodded and Shawn said "Then they will be able to come back safely even if they were in danger"
Jack remarked "But what about Mum, Dad and Uncle, they're in danger and they are exhausted!"
Kelvin and Shawn stood up "Me and Shawn will try to go and save them"
Lane placed the hammer in Shawn's hand "I already dropped my blood in it so you can use it"
Yilao asked "Will I be able to help?"
Kelvin shook his head "I can only carry two people at most and when we're going there, we have to get all three of them and I'm still trying to get my head around I can get them all back with us so I can't take you or anyone else except Shawn along"
Molly said as she stood up with Lilac still asleep in her arms "Then we'll follow you with a car o-or something fast enough to get there"
Shawn said "You guys are already weakened, you can't even get there in time also someone has to be here to wait for the boys when they arrive"
Yilao sighed in desperation as she sat down and held her forehead "Dad.."
Kelvin carried Shawn and said before he bolted out the hotel "We'll try our best"
Molly sobbed while Jack held her and tried to soothe her
Wilson said "I called Gaeul and told her what's happening, she and Bobae will be back here in the next four hours since they're taking a plane. At least it will add to our ranks when we go get Zach"
Jack nodded while Lane laid on the ground trying to recover some energy before everyone else arrived 'I just hope Lan and Paw are doing alright'
Dorian jolted awake and stood up "Paw!"
Feliz said "He went to handle the snakes by himself and asked me to stay with you"
Dorian's eyes widened as he turned around and ran towards Paul leaving Feliz alone with the torchlight 'S-should I go after him?'
Feliz looked back and then at the direction Dorian disappeared then reluctantly went after him 'I'm already in this and there's no turning back'
Dorian got there only to see Paul bleeding from his ears and one snake had died while the others were still struggling so he used his psychity to lift his knives and finished them off
Dorian caught Paul before he collapsed onto the ground but he had already lost consciousness
Dorian wanted to carry Paul on his back but Feliz immediately stopped him "I-i can do it, I can carry him, you'll fall if you do"
Dorian looked at him "But you're not strong enough to carry him either"
Feliz shoved the torch in Dorian's hands "But I am telling you that I can so let me!"
Dorian helped Paul onto Feliz's back and the duo walked forward as quickly as they could to find the exit
When they reached a certain place, the ground lit up and they saw seven statues surrounding a transparent circular gem which floated in the centre
The duo looked around but didn't find any other entrance to the place and when they entered, the pathway behind them got blocked by a steel door that rose from the ground
Feliz marveled in surprise "What is this place?"
Dorian was also amazed "I don't know"
Dorian noticed the seven statues and something floating in their centre "But we have to get out so follow me"
Feliz followed behind Dorian as they walked towards the statues in the centre of the whole area
Dorian was about to touch the stone in the centre when a voice spoke up "So you survived the beasts and the labyrinth eh??"
Dorian was on guard as he protected Feliz who was carrying Paul behind him "Who's that!?"
The voice spoke again "The statue to your right little one"
Dorian and Feliz looked to their right at a statue of an old man with a phoenix stick or probably a staff "I am the spirit of something which I have already forgotten since I have been here for too long. That thing you were about to touch contains magic virtue, the so called energy in you that gives you powers which was bestowed upon you at birth. Your father was the first eh?? But he was created it seems so his isn't as pure as yours is"
Dorian was stunned "You know my father?"
The voice replied "No, I was just trying to tell where the source of your magic virtue came from. Your source was unpure but yours is very pure"
Dorian frowned "Enough of the chitchat, how do we get out?"
The voice answered "You need to remove that green orb you wanted to touch out of curiosity but be careful with it because if it breaks, all magic virtues including yours will disappear for eternity meaning no powers also meaning you'll go back to being the weaklings you should have been since the beginning but that ain't my business. Now get out of here and let me go back to my slumber"
