Lady Lu looked at him, the furrow of her brows deepening, "What happened between you and Nannan?"
He could see the band-aid on his open palm and gripped it tightly, saying, "Nothing."
"Really nothing?" Lady Lu pressed him.
Arriving at the door of the room, he looked back and saw the drowsily half-squinted little face nestled in her arms, so distinctly cunning and wise, so much like his sister, he took a deep breath as though wanting to reach out and take her, yet he let his hand fall back, weakly, saying, "Let Nana sleep with you tonight. I need to get up early tomorrow morning."
Upon hearing this, Lady Lu became nervous and inspected her suddenly rejected granddaughter. The little princess with a temperament showed no sign of being upset, shrugging her small forehead instead.
Just as Lady Lu was about to take her granddaughter back to her room, a low and gently warm voice from her son said from behind, "I will stay with her tonight. Don't want her to throw a tantrum."
