Upon seeing the speeding palm that obviously intended to kill, Max instantly pulled his head away. Yet, his exhaustion proved to be too much, for his movement was a lot slower than the strike.
Max closed his eyes and gritted his teeth as he braced for impending death. However, the end never arrived.
"What are you doing?" Calypso's irritated voice was suddenly heard, causing Max to open his eyes. What he saw was an aged figure standing right before him, his hand grabbing Calypso's wrist.
"Apologies, Sir Calypso. I'm merely acting according to Master's will," Liam flatly replied.
"Please calm down, Uncle," Christo chimed in. "It won't look good for us if we eliminate the returning hero on a whim. He's much more useful alive."
Calypso looked at Max briefly before relaxing his hand, upon which Liam also retracted his before vanishing on the spot.
