Claudia Ross had just gotten out of bed when she felt the house shake. She went to the dining room for breakfast and asked the waiter if there had been an earthquake that morning.
The waiter told her that such minor earthquakes happened several times a month, sometimes two or three times in a single day.
They had grown up here since childhood and were already used to it.
Claudia Ross asked: "Have you ever thought about leaving this place?"
She was genuinely worried that if a major earthquake were to happen one day, the people here would be in bad luck.
The waiter said that this was their home, there was nowhere else to go if they left Hastier County, and that it was best to stay at home.
The people of Hastier County were simple and honest, and those who had lived here generation after generation were reluctant to leave.
After breakfast, Claudia Ross went to Hastier County Middle School, accompanied by the county leaders.
