Chapter 14 - Tribal Warrior Survivors

Rolan entered the portal and emerged in the camp, immediately handing over the quest items to the quest givers.

He approached the Alchemist, who smiled brightly upon receiving her tools.

"Thank you so much, young lad. Now I can resume my potion-making. I'll give you one potion per week as a reward," she said in a sweet voice.

Rolan then made his way to the blacksmith's tent. Inside, where cold embers lay dormant in the forge, a man awaited him.

"Thank you, young one. This camp is in your debt. I can forge you an item as a reward," the blacksmith said, then began his work.

Rolan handed him the looted materials to be smelted, which would be forged into a new weapon.

Next, Rolan approached the merchant, who had been waiting at his stall.

"Young lad, I am indebted to you! I can now resume selling here in the camp. Though my wares are limited, I assure you they're the best. I understand our situation, so I'll give you a discount," he said cheerfully.

Rolan then went to the enchanter's tent. The man stepped out as Rolan arrived.

"Thank you, young one! I'm pleased to see my tools again. You may now use the Enchanting Tent. I'll enchant one item for free just for you—and one enchantment scroll per week as a gift!" he said with a smile.

Rolan made his way to the builder's tent and gave him the tools. Inside, the man was already drawing plans for the camp's expansion.

"Thank you so much! I'm so happy to have my tools again. Without them, I'm close to nothing—just a brilliant mind with no means. But now? We can build something!" he said enthusiastically.

Suddenly, the elder approached Rolan, his face heavy with concern and worry.

"Young one, thank you for rescuing the others. But I must trouble you again. Tribal warriors were abducted recently. I believe they are still alive… you must rescue them," he said with a cough.

"I accept the request," Rolan replied.

"Go to the Whispering Valley up north. Traverse the mountains and you'll find a valley. There lies a camp of tribal goblins who hold them captive. Rescue them before it's too late!" the elder urged.

Rolan set out at once. As he traveled north, the wind collided with his cloak, sending shivers down his spine.

The wasteland was ravaged by winds, barren of trees as far as the eye could see. Only bones littered the land, scattered across the desolate terrain. The season was growing colder with each passing day.

Eventually, Rolan reached a valley and spotted the tribal village of imps. Their homes were built from wood with thatched roofs. Behind spiked wooden fences, numerous tribal warriors were imprisoned—famished, skeletal, and deprived of rest.

Without hesitation, Rolan descended upon the village and attacked. His blade slashed down the first guard, alerting the others. Alarms rang out.

The tribal goblins were small but agile. Their feathered headdresses fluttered as they darted around, wielding daggers and throwing darts. They immediately attacked.

Rolan met their charge, scythe swinging in wide arcs. The imps fell in waves—quick but fragile. He showed no mercy, carving them down with relentless precision. Blood sprayed as limbs flew and bodies crumpled.

He hacked off arms, legs, shoulders. The goblins cursed in their tongue, but Rolan only pressed harder. He threw daggers, striking some in the head, others in the chest.

Minutes passed, and the battlefield grew silent. All enemies were dead.

Rolan approached the cages and opened a portal scroll. One by one, the starved tribal warriors emerged in joy and relief.

"Thank you so much, stranger!" one of them exclaimed.

Rolan stepped through the portal and found the elder smiling in gratitude.

"Thank you so much," Kerath said.

Then, the leader of the Tribal Warriors approached with good news.

"Thank you! We, the surviving warriors, owe you our lives. I can finally sleep knowing my men are safe. Now, we will serve you. You may recruit one of us to fight at your side as a companion."

[Tribal Warriors Available for Evolution]

[Evolve Your Tribal Warriors?]

Rolan suggested, "How about I evolve you all?"

"Huh?"

"Really?"

"Wow!"

They all bowed in reverence.

"We will serve you as our Lord from now on!" their leader declared.

Their rugged appearances became more refined. They looked younger, stronger, and more vital. Rolan estimated their lifespans had increased by a hundred years. Their mana wells grew larger, their strength more potent. They had ascended a rank above their former selves.

"I am Kuro, the Swordsman," said a man in white robes with semi-spiked white hair tied in a long ponytail. He knelt with a sword that lacked a hand guard.

"I am Renald, the Berserker," said a red-haired man with spiky locks and a small fang peeking from his grin.

"I am Ella, the Lifestealer," said a porcelain-skinned girl with red hair in a long ponytail. Dressed in pink robes, she covered her mouth with a fan and spoke with elegance.

"I am Braun, the Offensive Knight," said a muscular man with brown skin, yellow hair, and a scarred face, holding his helm at his side.

"I am Ain, the Staff Master," said a robed man with prayer beads around his neck, holding a staff. He radiated monk-like composure.

"I am Rein," said the Spearman.

"I am Seiya," said the Duelist.

"And I am Tron!" boomed the Chaos Knight.

They had become loyal underlings under Rolan's command.
