Chapter 25 - 6.2

"There! No more sub! Maybe now he'll finally give it up." Aoyama said, feeling exasperated by Jonah's relentlessness.

"I wouldn't count on it, Aoyama. This man is driven to a truly unhealthy degree. Very few things can make someone stop at that point." Iida said, remembering how determined he was to bring down Stane after his brother was injured.

However, the greedy egg thief was too blinded by riches to allow himself to be stopped and pulled out a knife to try and slay the Krakken.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?" All the students asked.

"Honestly, I'm more tired of his crap than anything." Present Mic sighed.

"This guy's COMPLETELY lost it! Lasers barely hurt it and his sonic cannon only stunned it for a minute! There's no way that knife does ANYTHING!" Bakugo snapped.

"And now, he's just making the Krakken madder that he won't leave her and her eggs alone. He's running out of chances FAST." Aizawa said.

He thrust the knife towards the beast, only for it to pathetically break against the Krakken's mighty teeth.

Everything was silent for a beat, before most of the students burst out laughing. "Oh, man! It's like the universe is just making fun of him now!" Hagakure laughed.

"If he tries to punch it, I swear I'm gonna die laughing!" Kaminari cackled.

"You guys DO realize the Krakken's probably gonna eat him now, right?" Todoroki asked.

Jonah pauses and looked at his broken as the angry mother roared, opening her jaws to devour the poacher. However, before the Krakken could eat him, Ripjaws put himself between the two with his arms out defensively. And amazingly, the Krakken understood this, simply turning back to tend to her eggs.

The whole audience was shocked at this. "No way..." Jiro said in disbelief.

"It listened to him." Yaoyorozu said in awe.

"This creature is truly a marvel. It seems to possess almost human levels of intelligence and even some level of empathy. It deserves to live in peace." Iida said.

"Aww. It being with its eggs is still so precious~" Ashido cooed.

Jonah exchanges a look with Ripjaws before shrugging, at which point the aquatic alien punched him in the face for a knockout.

"Yes! Finally! You got what you deserve!" Koda cheered.

"Yeah! Leave babies alone, you big jerk!" Kirishima shouted as well.

"Good thing he'll be locked up now. He was WAY too dangerous to be running free." Midnight said.

On the surface, Ben hung Jonah up on some debris by the back of the collar of his wetsuit. "Hang here for a while, until the police find a nice, dry cell for ya." Ripjaws declared as he floated on the surface with his arms crossed, before backflipping and descending into the lake.

"Discovering the true villain, sparing an innocent creature falsely accused and defending unborn babies. Well done, young Ben." All Might praised, proud of the boy.

"Yeah. I was almost sure the Krakken was the problem at first. Now I can't believe I ever thought that." Midoriya agreed.

"It's also hard to believe we EVER believed Jonah was a good guy." Uraraka agreed.

"Well, just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover." Maverick told them.

Some time later, Max and Gwen looked on from the lakeside as a police boat neared Jonah. "Ha, 'good riddance to bad rubbish'." Max said harshly.

"Yeah. I hope he's locked up for the rest of his life." Koda huffed.

"According to Gwen, he's been doing this for years and built a rap sheet off it, so he's probably been to jail before. And if he's broken out, then between multiple charges of poaching and escaping lawful custody, he should be in there for the amount of time you wished for." Yaoyorozu told him.

But suddenly, Captain Shaw rolled up to the lakeside. "Got one!" He declared happily as it was revealed he somehow caught Ripjaws in a net along with seaweed. "I finally got me a Krakken! One of the eggs must've hatched. Imagine this trophy mounted on my wall." He exclaimed triumphantly.

"What?! How!?" Sato asked.

"He probably had a net deployed as he was approaching in case one of the eggs hatched, like he said." Midoriya guessed.

"He's in for a big surprise once the Omnitrix times out." Asui said.

"Which should be any second now." Bakugo chuckled.

However, as he boasted, a red flash went off. "Heh, I think your 'catch of the day' isn't exactly as advertised." Max chuckled, Shaw turning back and holding up a lamp to the net, as Ben, in his human form, peered through with a smirk.

"But I could've sworn..." Shaw said in disbelief, shaking his head in confusion.

"Oh, dang. Now I almost feel bad for this guy." Sero admitted.

"Yeah, he just got gaslit HARD." Ashido agreed. "But it is also kind of funny." She added.

Out in the distance, the Krakken howled, sitting on the lake floor, cradling her eggs.

"Aww... You know, when she's not trying to eat people like potato chips and just sitting there with her eggs, she's actually kind of cute." Kaminari admitted.

"That's nature for you. It can be scary at first, but if you look from a safe distance and don't disturb it, it's probably the most beautiful thing in the world." Koda said in admiration.

"I just hope this lake connects to the ocean or something, so all of these Krakken aren't trapped in that lake, so they have more on the menu than people." Mineta said worriedly.

"Well, what did you think?" Anemone asked.

"It was awesome! All of Ben's aliens were great! And Ripjaws was amazing! Can't wait for him to get the spotlight again!" Kaminari said.

(Get ready to wait.) Both hosts thought.

"Both of Ben's previously seen aliens showed even greater potential than before, as well. XLR8 running on water still leaves me in awe." Iida admitted.

"And Stinkfly's goo is STILL gross, but also pretty cool." Ashido added.

"But it also taught us to look at the big picture and see if something's out of place, ribbit. Because a wild animal was rampaging for no reason and some random group with no real authority closed down a whole lake. We should've known something was up. And Ripjaws was really cool, like Kaminari said." Asui explained.

"Not to mention, it was also a good showcasing for dealing with multiple different parties in a fight. We should probably learn how to handle things like that." Midoriya added.

"Plus, the kid did a good job planning out their attack on Friends of Fish and was pretty skilled handling Jonah's crazy sub. He did alright out there. If he just matured a little more, he might actually be a good hero." Aizawa admitted.

"Ooh, we're SO close to getting you to fully admit it! It's gonna happen, just you wait!" Maverick said.

"If he keeps up all the pranks and using his powers for dumb reasons, you'll be waiting quite a while." The narcoleptic teacher told him.

"Well, then. I think it's time we move on to the next adventure. I think any horror movie fans will like this one." Maverick declared as the screen lit up to display the Tennyson's next adventure.
