Chapter 338 - At the edge of eternity(2)

Time, Space, Matter and Aura, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina and Arceus. Through obtaining an aspect of all of their powers my divinity naturally jumped in power by a massive amount and stood at the precipice of ascension. I didn't reach for my evolution token however as somehow I instinctively knew it wouldn't work for my divinity anymore. I can't put it into words exactly but I just felt it and knew with all I am that it was true. This gave me a dilemma as I now have an evolution token that wasn't already dedicated to a purpose unlike the one i've been holding on to so far.-

Annoyingly I was stuck with the same problem I had with the first evolution token, I was hesitant to choose anything. Abilities, skills, my race, my pokemons race, an item, a concept, the things I could use it on were without end. I considered using it on my race much like I had previously when I became a high human but now that I stood at the edge of godhood that seemed like such a pointless waste. Using it to evolve my pokemon was also a waste as they were not limited to begin with and were each on their way towards godhood themselves though obviously with a much harder journey than my own.-

The only real exceptions to that was Hades and Tank for different reasons each. For Hades it was possible that I could use the token to create an evolution based on it's many soul fragments joining together into a single mind, no longer fractured and mad. Hades deserved it without a doubt but I hesitated because I wasn't sure if this wasn't already a thing. The Spiritomb species were not well understood and there could very well be an evolution based around the many souls that made them up fusing together completely.-

If this was truly a thing then using the token to achieve it would practically be a sin as it would be a huge waste. As for trying to evolve Tank again my reasoning was honestly just that even if he were to obtain divinity by surpassing champion tier power that only increases his lifespan to one hundred and fifty years at most. An evolution in lifespan or simply in general would increase this number even further giving the bug type an equal chance with the rest of my pokemon.-

I was reluctant to use the token on that however as that was more or less telling Tank that I lacked faith in him. Ironically my pokemon all insisted that I use the token selfishly and to ignore them entirely, even Cratos. The Feebas variant was more than happy with only a single evolution as that was what would be normally afforded to the species. I ended up putting off the matter until I had my meeting with Arceus as I had a feeling that would help me decide.-

"I am going to meet Arceus, alone. I do not know when I will return so in the meanwhile each of you can wander the region and hone yourselves with your plates. I will send a signal through our bond when it is time to meet up again." I told my pokemon seriously. "HAAAAAAASSSSSSSS!" Hades protested in a loud angry hiss and it's smoky form wavered erratically. "I know you want to come with me but this is not like normal. If anything were to happen to you, any of you really because you came with me I'd never forgive myself so please stay with the others just the once okay?" I asked softly.-

Hades was not happy with this at all but didn't resist when Yani picked up it's keystone and took my bag and spear. All I was going to take with me to this meeting was my clothes and the Azure flute that served as my invitation. I didn't want Arceus of all beings getting the wrong impression because of what I had on me. I also didn't need Rune to travel anymore as with my newest ability I could simply teleport.-

I gave my pokemon one last smile and thumbs up before space warped around me and I vanished from that location before suddenly appearing on the slope of Mt. Coronet just below the ruins that made up Spear pillar. The league did a good job cleaning up but there was still small traces of the battle that took place here such as the solidified lava and occasional dark bloodstain in a crack. Other than that however you'd never be able to tell that anything of the sort happened here. I walked up the steps nervously as I felt three gazes fixed on my. Giratina, Dialga and Palkia were all observing me carefully as they no doubt sensed the Azure flute on me and were invested in seeing how this played out.-

I suppose I couldn't exactly blame them as I was about to go meet Arceus itself. I took a deep breath before walking up to the altar at the end of the temple and drew the Azure flute up to my lips and blew into it. Without even covering any of the holes like you would with a normal flute to make a song a tune both eerie and beautiful rang out from the flute filling the air.-

Immediately after it ended the flute turned into dust that didn't even blow away but simply vanished as though never there to begin with. I admit I was quite confused when nothing seemed to happen at first but soon a dot of golden light appeared above the altar. It grew bigger and brighter until I had to shield my eyes. Once the light vanished however an awe inspiring sight greeted me. A golden sea of clouds surrounding the temple and a set of stairs that consisted of individual crystalline rainbow platforms floating perfectly still in space in defiance to gravity or the laws of physics.-

I steadied my breath and took the first step onto this stairway knowing full well there was no going back now. The stairs seemed to have no end as I climbed up them and soon enough I could no longer see the temple behind me at all, just a vast sea of golden clouds in all directions. I didn't stop however but continued on my way until I saw a small platform high above me.
