[Chapter Size: 2500 Words.]
Third Person POV.
Oldtown.
...
...
"High in the halls of the kings who are gone
Jenny would dance with her ghosts
The ones she had lost and the ones she had found
And the ones who had loved her the most."
The singer's voice stopped there, at the last verse of the song, as his gaze returned to the woman standing in front of the group, who had her eyes closed, seemingly savoring the music.
"Ah... my dear Jenny..." she murmured. "Only your song can pull me from this wave of nightmares I've been having lately... this is a curse placed upon me, because the gods gave me these visions... why? I only see death, more now than ever before!" she murmured, seeming distressed.
"Will you speak now? About your visions?" Thoros of Myr, who stood there along with the Brotherhood Without Banners — which had been formed by Lord Stark himself when he was still Hand of the King, to go after the Mountain while Tywin had left him in the realm precisely as a response to Catelyn Stark's actions in capturing Tyrion Lannister and taking him to the Vale.
The woman before them was the known Ghost of High Heart, an elderly dwarf woman who lived in a grove with many weirwood trees, where long ago, there had been a massacre committed by a human king against many children of the forest — the perpetrator of the massacre left only those trees behind while the bodies of the children were left fallen on the ground until they became fertilizer. It is said that the place is still haunted by the dead children of that time, but there was still someone who lived there.
The woman known as the Ghost of High Heart — there are many things surrounding this woman. The Brotherhood Without Banners had ended up contacting her because of the visions she has in exchange for hearing the song Jenny of Oldstones.
There are many mysteries about her. Some believed she was so old that she had lived in the time of Jenny herself, when there was an event where a forest witch was summoned to court, and she made a prophecy that at the time the princes, Rhaella Targaryen and Aerys II Targaryen, should marry because their lineage would produce the one who would be known as the Prince That Was Promised. But most did not believe it was her.
Now Jon, if he saw her, would say she could be a hybrid, knowing the children of the forest beyond the Wall — and that made her a green seer, who according to all, has prophetic dreams.
And here was the Brotherhood Without Banners, seeking her words after their singer, Tom Sevenstrings, paid the price.
"Very well... I shall speak of my nightmares..." she murmured to the men.
All already knew what had happened in this realm — when news spread of the Mountain being captured by Ned Stark's bastard and having his leg cut off. As well as the news of an entire northern group being faced by the same — only Robb Stark came out well, but everyone says Jon Snow used a magic that made even the skies tremble with a roar before he struck down all 50 men, destroying the entire forest. Some Northerners were calling him a demigod — one seeking vengeance after being treated as a bastard in Winterfell, and all believe he is after Lady Catelyn.
There were many absurd reports that no one could understand — that's why Thoros came to find this woman, in search of mysticism. Never in history have there been so many accounts of magic in Westeros as now. This Jon Snow is making all those who claim to master magic — whether of the Red God, or the Old Gods — look like charlatans as more of his feats are heard.
The woman looked at them, seemingly hesitant, but then began to recite her words.
"I saw the giant of death meet his doom... His body rolled over the earth like soulless rotten flesh. The beast that cast him did not roar — it only stared."
The brave fell silent, the cruel trembled, and blood sang on the burned wood.
Now the Mountain flies… bound like an animal without a leg, dragged by a creature far more terrifying than he.
He was once the oppressor, now he screams from the heights like the oppressed, but no one is there to hear him, only the wind. He angered a being no mortal ever should, and this one seeks vengeance for his blood — no one can stop him."
She paused, looking deeply horrified, but continued with another prophecy.
"The night screamed — but those above did not listen. From the sky fell the white silence, and with it, the bones of the walls.
Thunder called the storm, but it was the cold that devoured. The stones wept before they broke, and the screams were swallowed by the mist.
Two lesser thrones sank, not by sword… but by judgment from the skies. And once more, the one who seeks vengeance acted."
"I saw books crying fire, and ancient voices being read by eyes that never should have seen.
A stranger wore silence and descended stairs that not even the dead dare touch.
The blood of truth was invoked… and answered with screams that bent reason. Nameless creatures walked among chains, judging the judges.
And the sacred stone of wisdom was looted like a brothel on a night of war."
She paused again and looked directly at them, with the same fear.
"I saw chains fall, not by honor — but by the blade of truth. One by one, the wise were judged for secrets they thought long dead.
The quill did not save them, nor the ring, nor time. I saw men scream the names of the gods, and the gods turn their faces away.
The light shone... and then, only blood was left dripping among the books. The city of books is now filled with death."
They all looked at each other, quite confused by this information.
They didn't know what had happened in the West, so they didn't understand that part, except for hearing about the Mountain — that part made sense.
But the idea of him flying through the sky was very confusing.
"Do you have anything else?" Thoros asked.
"..." She seemed thoughtful.
"I saw the false stag scream without his throne — but not even the crows hear him anymore.
The throne that had stood for almost 300 years is still missing. The crown no longer shines, and the golden city reeks of fear and betrayal.
The lioness lost her roar… and weeps for not feeling what she loved most: desire.
I saw the old wolf walk again, among tall stones and smiles with fangs. There are eyes in the sky, and the wind whispers poisoned promises — if he takes one more step, the abyss may answer him."
She said her final words before turning back to them in anger.
"Now go, leave me be!" she exclaimed as they all nodded, knowing the temperament of the old dwarf woman.
"What was all that just now..." Edric Dayne murmured beside Thoros.
"I still don't... but there are things one can understand... there will be a wave of deaths in Oldtown, the Iron Throne truly was stolen — by Jon Snow, I presume, with his magic.
But... could Lord Stark still be alive then?" he wondered aloud, confused, while saying nothing about the other parts, as he couldn't quite tell what they meant.
In any case, they left the place, while the old witch returned to her tasks — gathering some herbs while trying to forget all the terror she had been witnessing.
"I said it..." she murmured. "But there was no one to listen..." she remembered, and how everything had been happening all because of the beginning of these events.
'From a world where magic never sleeps, he shall return.'
Carries within himself the soul of a dragon, forged by devouring the dragons themselves.
The boy from the North died — in his place came something above men and gods.
When he steps on this land, even the oldest of seers shall fall.
And Westeros shall be rewritten… in fire, ice, and vengeance.'
She finally remembered her own words from a year and moons ago, when she had felt the disturbance.
It made her tremble, and all she wanted now was to eat something and try to forget.
In any case, Jon had already left the Citadel, while he headed north with a final word.
What no one expected after seeing two castles destroyed in the West, was that his highness now walked over the floor of Casterly Rock, while standing inside its vault at that moment.
He didn't simply want to go to Harrenhal, where the old lion was supposed to be — he wanted the man to feel his loss in the flesh.
He would arrive after the news of the destroyed castles, but it would still be a heavy blow against the lion.
Jon then began clearing the whole place out.
There wasn't much gold there, as the old lion seemed to keep it elsewhere, but Jon wasn't in the mood to waste more time and began taking everything, leaving the vault completely empty.
"I think this is good enough. Let's see how you'll react to this, Tywin Lannister."
With that, Jon began leaving the place, heading out, climbing the stairs, and intending to leave the place just as easily as he entered — after all, the people were already stirred by what had happened.
In one single night, two castles had awoken destroyed at the same time.
Jon came across a girl looking out at the sea through one of the windows as he passed her calmly.
"Who...?" she asked suddenly, watching him pass, and a spark of doubt flickered in her eyes.
"Hmm? Why should I?" Jon merely looked at her and saw golden-blonde hair with green eyes — a Lannister, and he immediately wanted to ignore her.
"I'm Joy Hill. Say your name. You don't seem to be from here..." she murmured.
Jon stopped for a moment, pondering for a single second before turning back to her.
He smiled.
"I am Damon Targaryen. Tell your guardians that Rhaegar Targaryen's son passed through here to collect some debts the old lion owes him."
Jon said, leaving the girl paralyzed.
Jon then continued leaving the place after that — he wanted the message to be delivered.
After thinking a bit, it was time to start tormenting the old lion, because once they met again, Jon was decided — he would kill him.
So he left without any further problems as he moved outward toward the forest, finding a man screaming, tied to his dragon.
"You don't look too comfortable there, do you?" Jon mocked as the man screamed, and Winter seemed irritated with him — it wasn't clear whether he was screaming from pain or frustration, as his leg bled through the bandages.
Flying in the sky was hurting due to the movement, but Jon didn't care.
"Stay alive until we reach the North, you hear?" Jon said, finally determined to return to the camp.
He mounted his female dragon, and she leapt into the air, soaring toward the sky as the Mountain rose beyond the clouds.
Jon had finished his business there in the South, and the enemies that remained would be dealt with later.
For now, he would move to arm and prepare his army — and when the Seven Kingdoms heard of him again, he would be marching through the North with a Free Folk army behind him, advancing toward the Neck and seeking his true war, not the petty games he'd had over the past moons until now.
The news was beginning to reach their destinations, which would happen the next day.
At last, they would begin to hear of the terrible events happening in Westeros.
Meanwhile, as night fell in a small cabin... a woman slept peacefully — the same woman known as the Ghost of High Heart seemed to be having yet another of her visions at that moment.
"He left…
But not for peace.
The South will remain at war and kings will rise, but without him, the war will seem like only a silent breath,
a small sigh that comes before the storm.
When he returns, he will not come alone — he will come with a thousand swords and a thousand voices crying for vengeance.
The realms will burn.
There will be no faith to stop him, no gold to buy him, no song to persuade him.
He does not seek crowns, he seeks debt… And the Seven Kingdoms will pay in blood.
Walls will crumble, cities will sink, ancient names will turn to dust.
And when the thunder ceases… he will let the crown fall at the feet of another with his blood.
But his seed will be born… an heir with a tongue of fire and eyes of judgment,
Will rise to the throne he did not wish to keep.
And the father, even from afar… will never stop watching."
She spoke these words in her sleep, as she saw visions of dragons, blood, and fire across all the realms.
