Lily looked back, petrified.
Was this real? Was she dreaming? Was she going to succumb to them?
No! Not! She was stressed as she took to her heels while being chased by the men whom she had escaped from earlier. Apparently her freedom was temporary.
"Come out b*tch!"One of them hissed, but it echoed in the stillness of the night.
Mee took a sharp right turn down an alley, slipped, got her leg stuck, and couldn't move.
Realizing the men had sensed her whereabouts, she tried not to make a sound.
They drew closer in on her, she wished to die.
Lily was poised between life and death, salvation and slavery. The situation was rather deadly on the side of the latter.
But she was confused. What were the men seeking to get from her?
Just then, the familiar face she felt comfortable with emerged from what seemed to be deeper inside the alley.
He held her stuck leg helping her out, his touch so sensitive, tapping deep into her soul, making her melt, his scent so intense and intimidating yet calm and soft.
His closeness dangerously threatened her heart. His facial features were very well-defined; sharp jawline, a high-bridged nose that pinked at the tip, deep-set downturned cat-shaped eyes, heart-shaped pink lips, and pale skin.
Lee Mee just stared at him in awe. She felt like asking him a question but then she was contemplating.
They'd just been staring at each other for as long as they met.
"Just trust me." He said, as if he could hear Lily's thought.
"Who are you?"
-----
Lily's clock sounded, making the same irritating noise she always woke up to.
"Ughh!" She groaned ,as she hoped out of bed visibly discontented with her ruined sleep.
She suddenly remembered her weird dream.
That tender touch, the voice smooth as silk, comforting her in the mist of trouble.
Those pair of loving eyes, captivating yet gentle, fixated on her. The familiar scent of soft cologne lingering in her nose...
How close they were, his eyes penetrating her soul.
Subconsciously, her lips curved into a smile.
"Ugh, Lily wake up!" She drove herself back to reality.
Her phone rang right before she stepped into the shower.
The caller ID showed Lalia. She picked up the phone.
''Hey Lalia! Good morning, how are you doing?"
"Good morning, Lily! I'm doing great, you?"
Lalia replied in an unusually cheerful tone.
She only used it when there's juicy gossip or she was about to tease her.
Lalia was Lily's most trusted assistant and they told each other everything. Their bond was more than that of sisters even though there was a huge age gap between them.
"Lalia, what's up?" Lily asked.
"Get over here as soon as you can!"She sounded like she was jumping out of excitement.
"What?"
"Stupid idiot! Nicki and his mom are here!"
"So?"
"Just...Big Boss told me to get you here."
Her voice dampened as she heard Mee's nonchalant response towards Nicki.
"Ok. I'll be there."
She tossed the phone aside after the call ended and then sighed.
"Oh Lalia..."
