"Riele," Kim called with a smile on his face
Riele was confused. First, he came to her house unannounced and now he is smiling at her.
"Listen, I know you are wondering why I am here and I will explain all that if you just stop standing there and staring at me like that."
She couldn't believe she had been standing there for a while. She mustered up the courage and sat down next to him. She wanted the night to be over so she could sleep through all the whole happenings today. She waited for him to say what he had to say so that he could get the hell out of her house.
"How was your day with Jay?"
Why is he asking me about Jay? She asked herself. "It was great," she answered. "I had a good time with him."
"I see." He rubbed his palms together and his eyes were fixed on something she couldn't place her mind on. He slowly turned to her and asked, "Did you tell him yes?"
What? Does that mean he knew about Jay's plan? Is that why he is here? But why would he be here because of that? Does that mean…
She felt a touch on her shoulders. "Uh?"
Kim smiled at her. He had no idea why everything she does brings a smile to his face. "Did my question scare you?"
"N…No…" She smiled nervously. "I just found out that I needed a glass of water." She stood up, went to the fridge, and got some water. After she had gulped down three glasses of water, she turned her back and did some breathing exercises for a few seconds.
"I need a glass of water too."
His voice frightened her and she mistakenly dropped the glass on the floor. The shattering sound made Harry rush out to see what was wrong but when he saw that no head was broken and Kim was helping his sister take care of the broken glasses, he ran back to his room.
"Why are you so nervous?" Kim asked while picking up the broken glasses. She watched him clean the mess she made and it made her heart flutter a little. She didn't understand why he was here and yes, he makes her nervous but still, there was something about his presence that she wants to keep seeing.
"Thank you," she was about to leave when he came closer to her and stood in front of her.
"I am not sure it is safe to move around here just yet," before she could say anything, he picked her up and placed her on the kitchen counter. "I will go and get your flip-flops."
Her eyes followed him as he moved and when he came back with her flip-flops, she couldn't take her eyes off him. "Why are you doing this?" she asked.
He looked up at her and asked, "why do you think I am doing this?"
"How on earth am I supposed to know the answer to that question? A few hours ago, you got mad at me and then you came into my house unannounced, and not just that…" she paused. "…you are confusing me."
Kim stroked her hair slowly and smiled at her. "I think I should go." He put her down and walked to the door. "See you at work."
She stood there till the door shut and his footsteps couldn't be heard anymore.
Kim got into his car and rested his head on the steering wheel. He had no idea what he was doing. Deep down he knew he wanted her but that same part of him just wants to keep seeing her confused. He loves how anxious and nervous she is when she is around him. But then, he made a promise to Jay and somehow, he feels like he might be breaking the promise soon.

"Why was he at the house?" charlotte asked on the phone while rubbing her stomach.
Riele had put a call to her to explain what happened.
"He didn't say why he came around,"
"I don't understand."
"Okay. I got home after a date with Jay, only to arrive home and see Kim in the house."
"So, he came over without any purpose?"
"I think so."
"That's so unlike him,"
"I know, right?"
After a pause between the two of them, Charlotte asked, "Are you okay?"
"I don't know, Charlotte," she sighed. "I was so nervous when he was around me… just thinking about it makes my heart flutter and my stomach churns in excitement."
"You love him,"
"What?"
"You are in love, Riele."
Riele laughs nervously. "That's not possible. Love isn't for me."
"Says who?"
"Me."
"You can't tell your heart when to or not love."
"I think the baby is asking for his father that is why you are saying this."
Charlotte laughed. "You can keep denying it but you and I know that I am right."
"Good night, charlotte."
"Running away?"
"Take care of the baby."
"Alright, godmother."
Riele ended the call first because she knew Charlotte would continue talking if she didn't.
Charlotte took some water and was about to head to her room when she heard a knock at the door.
She stood still for a while to hear if the knock was a mistake but when she heard the knock again, she went closer to the door. "Who is it?"
"It's me, Charlotte…" the voice sounded drunk but she could tell she has heard the voice before but she couldn't tell whose voice it was.
She slowly opened the door only to find Kim Utter at the door looking soaking wet and he reeks of alcohol. The raindrops made her realize he was wet because of the rain.
"Mind if I come in?" His voice sends a shiver down her spine. She thought she would be scared to see him but a little part of her was excited.
Could be the baby? She said to herself.
She gave way for him to come in. She ran to a safe corner outside the house and quickly put a call through to Riele.
"Baby girl, go to sleep," Riele answered.
"Kim is here."
"What?"
"Kim Utter is here."
"Where?"
"Inside the house,"
"And where are you?"
"Outside the house."
"It's raining outside and why the f**k is he in and you are out? it should be the other way round."
"I know, I know." She opened the door slowly to peek in and she found him sleeping on the sofa. "I think he is asleep. I will call you back."
"Ba…" the call ended before Riele could finish her sentence.
Charlotte took a deep breath before going into the house.
