Team B chose option B, while Team A unanimously chose option A — even Charles himself agreed.
"We clearly don't belong to the same world as those people. How could we possibly be part of something like the Illuminati?" Charles shook his head.
He was smart, but after all, he was from the '60s and '70s, lacking a full understanding of the concept of the multiverse.
Not just him — even people born decades later, despite advanced technology, still largely treated the multiverse as nothing more than a myth.
Soon, as the countdown for answering began, the two teams made their choices. Once again, Team B was quicker on the draw.
[Congratulations, Team B answered correctly! Player Stephen Strange, player Peter Parker, and player Pietro Maximoff each gain 4 points]
[Team A answered incorrectly. Player Erik Lehnsherr, player Erik Charles Xavier, and player Logan Howlett each lose 1 point!]
Logan couldn't help but curse, "Shit! Wrong again! Hey guys, if this keeps up, we're gonna lose!"
Erik looked at Charles in surprise. "You have the ability to travel through the multiverse too?"
"Of course not!" Charles replied, equally puzzled about how he ended up associated with Stephen, Peter, and the others.
It just showed — young Charles still lacked some imagination.
After the quiz ended, the screen finally resumed playing the video. Mordo warmly welcomed Stephen and the mysterious young girl, even offering them tea.
Stephen let his guard down — after all, they were there seeking help — and he shared everything about America and Wanda.
Mordo, it turned out, really knew his stuff. He was not only knowledgeable about the multiverse but also familiar with the Darkhold. Ever since he took over as Sorcerer Supreme, he had discovered the Darkhold hidden in the Sanctum and knew how dangerous it was.
He warned them: Wanda summoning monsters using the Darkhold was just the beginning. The book contained a forbidden spell called "Dreamwalking," which allowed one's soul to possess another version of themselves in an alternate universe.
Mordo suspected Wanda had already become a Dreamwalking Witch — a threat of catastrophic proportions to the multiverse!
The conversation between them was smooth, an open exchange of critical information.
However, as Stephen rose from his seat, he suddenly felt dizzy — and so did America!
Mordo stood up as well and said, "I'm sorry, but I hope you understand: the ones threatening our world are not Wanda Maximoff — it's the two of you."
Mordo had drugged the tea!
America passed out first, and although Stephen resisted for a moment, he cursed under his breath before collapsing.
Outside the screen, Stephen (watching) was stunned. "Wasn't Mordo a member of the Illuminati...?"
Pietro chuckled. "See that, Peter? Even Stephen can screw up. He knew Mordo was trouble, but still dropped his guard. Serves him right!"
In the video, as Stephen and America lost consciousness, Wanda was Dreamwalking across the multiverse. Mordo hadn't lied: Wanda possessed her counterpart and finally reunited with her two beloved children.
The process, however, was eerie, giving the viewers a chilling horror movie vibe.
Meanwhile, Wong had been captured and was hanging suspended. A surviving sorceress found him, and Wong urged her: they must destroy the Darkhold.
Because Wanda was Dreamwalking, the Darkhold was floating in front of her, unattended. It was the perfect chance to destroy it!
Without hesitation, the sorceress lunged at the book, knocking it aside and stabbing it fiercely with a dagger. Instantly, the Darkhold erupted in eerie flames, incinerating the brave sorceress.
Her sacrifice wasn't in vain. Wanda's Dreamwalk was forcibly interrupted. Just as she was about to embrace her longed-for children, she was yanked back.
More importantly, the Darkhold was destroyed — she could no longer Dreamwalk again. Furious, Wanda turned on Wong for answers.
As the Sorcerer Supreme, Wong knew many secrets. To force him to talk, Wanda threatened the lives of the other survivors.
Left with no choice, Wong revealed the truth: the Darkhold Wanda had was only a copy. The original text was carved into the walls of an ancient temple at Mount Wundagore.
However, no one had ever made it to the temple safely.
Wanda, now fully unhinged, was determined to find her children — no matter the danger. She demanded Wong guide her there.
Meanwhile, Stephen finally regained consciousness, only to find himself and America imprisoned inside a transparent glass cell. Their hands were bound with special restraints that nullified magic.
To Stephen's shock, the woman standing outside, dressed like a lab researcher, was his ex-girlfriend — Christine!
But this world's Christine was no ordinary woman. She had invented the very cuffs that bound him, specifically designed to counter sorcerers.
Christine first calmly reassured Stephen and then explained: he was now in Universe 838, while Stephen hailed from Universe 616.
(Amusingly, Mysterio's earlier fabricated story had accidentally gotten the numbering right.)
Stephen tried to convince Christine to let him go, stressing the imminent threat Wanda posed. Time was running out.
However, Christine remained unmoved, referring to Stephen as a "dangerous individual."
Before they could argue further, Mordo reappeared — this time leading a group of robots. He declared, "The Illuminati will see you now."
Stephen, utterly confused, was led into a grand hall. At the front stood a raised platform with six seats, all occupied.
Mordo sat down among them and began introducing the members of the Illuminati.
First up was Captain Carter, who threw her shield — nearly hitting Stephen.
She had golden hair, wore a skintight suit emblazoned with the Union Jack, and radiated heroic energy. With that round shield in her hand, she immediately evoked the image of Captain America.
Watching outside the video, Steve Rogers stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
The Carter he remembered — strong and confident in military uniform — was certainly impressive. But the woman in the video was on an entirely different level.
