"Anyway." I triple-checked my inventory to make sure that 'Greed' wasn't coming alive or eating anything. Then I looked at Welf and said, "New equipment, yes. I was thinking about some basic equipment sets for our familia. Like a standard uniform woven out of salamander cloth and undine silk or something to make sure they'd be safe in fires and floods. And I wanted to check with you on accessory crafting too."
Welf hummed. "I'm not really a good tailor, but I could take a stab at it. And accessories, huh?" He rubbed his chin. "Mm... I hate to say it, but Fina has me beat there."
"Huh?" I blinked. "My princess does?"
"Yeah. I mean, you saw all the stuff she made for Lili right?" Welf shrugged. "It's rough, but they're all pretty incredible. I think we should just give her the task of keeping her big sisters safe and tell her to make some pretty jewelry."
I opened my mouth to disagree with him. But then I paused and muttered, "Wait, you have a good point..."
Plus, it would keep Fina busy enough to not do something ridiculous with her sister and Pyrrha...
"...Okay. I'll talk with Tia about that and we'll see if Fina can help. But still, we need proper equipment for everyone."
Welf nodded and said, "Yeah. I'll work on that. After all, I'm the Hestia familia's resident blacksmith. Can't have you sourcing our equipment from elsewhere, right?"
I paused. "Uh..."
Welf frowned. "...Don't tell me you bought some stuff from someone else, Bro..."
I coughed and said, "W-Well, since we had all that money just sitting around, I told Freya to go crazy and get the girls good equipment? But I told her to get you materials too!"
Welf clicked his tongue and said, "Guess I need to work harder than. My bro still doesn't trust me with all our equipment..."
"Hey, I just don't want you overworked."
Welf sighed.
I cleared my throat and said, "Anyway... where's Pyrrha?"
Welf turned back to the anvil and picked up his hammer, gently tapping it on the magic stone. "She's helping Iris and Love move things around with Lili."
I blinked. "Move things around? What?"
Welf slowly molded the magic stone into a half circle before placing it over the piece of iron. Then he said, "They're thinking we could start an inn together, so they're testing things out."
"An inn, huh?" I hummed and said, "I guess Tia IS a goddess of home and hearth..."
Welf nodded. "Right."
I frowned. "Wait. But we don't need money though..."
Welf rolled his eyes and said, "Money isn't everything, Bro. Some people just want to keep busy. Speaking from personal experience here."
"Right..." I sighed, remembering all the girls went through. "That would be a welcome distraction."
"Mmhm... Oh yeah, before I forget." Welf reached below his anvil and chucked something at me.
I instinctively grabbed it and turned it over in my hand. "Huh? ...A cube?"
Welf went back to hammering away and said, "I noticed you kept breaking weapons earlier. I know you can somehow pull weapons out of thin air, but I figured you'd want something more permanent."
I hummed and channeled a bit of mana into the cube, watching as it shifted into various weapons. "Hoh...?" I stared at the runes shimmering, feeling as it resonated with my falna and said, "...What the heck did you make?"
Welf chuckled and said, "Well, Hestia was worried about you and asked if I could make something that could grow with you. After consulting a bit with Fae, we made that."
I dropped the cube and quickly took a few steps back. "This thing isn't going to come to life and be our magic love child or anything, right?"
Welf turned a bright red and said, "What the hell?! No! Of course not! Why the hell would you even think that!?"
"Well, like I was saying with Greed, the LAST time you made something like this and someone put mana-"
Welf groaned and said, "Just get out of here, Bell."
"Fine, fine." I laughed and picked up the cube. I stared at it. Then I double-checked Greed in my inventory and said, "But just for the record. If I suddenly get two more kids... you are never living this down."
"Oooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttt!"
I laughed and left the forge.
