Gu Jin's heart skipped a beat as she remembered the girl.
"Oh no…" she said, suddenly worried. "I told her to wait outside!"
Without another word, she turned and ran out of the building. Her boots hit the ground with sharp sounds as she hurried through the dark alleyways. She rushed toward the spot where she had last seen the girl.
As she turned the corner, she stopped cold.
The girl was still there—but something was wrong.
A man was holding her by the arm, pulling her roughly. The girl stood stiff and frozen, her face pale. Her eyes looked empty, like she was too scared to even move.
Gu Jin's expression darkened. Her red eyes began to glow again, cold and dangerous.
She stormed toward them.
"Let go of her," she said, her voice low and sharp.
The man turned and froze when he saw her eyes. Something about the way she looked at him—like he was nothing but a bug under her shoe—sent a chill down his spine.
