Emma enters her small village, the village is kept from every other eye except the people who live in it with an illusion of large trees and rocks that no one could dare to pass through, too deep in the forest that no one comes around. The spell was made by Maida's mum who was now dead and since then Maida was the only witch among them, tragically Maida died a few weeks ago leaving her seven-year-old hybrid daughter who knows no much than the spell of growing flowers and hasn't turned into a full wolf on any full moon, also her grieving husband
Matthew, he hasn't been himself since her death.
Matthew was the only wolf, the only one they could trust. Emma has always wondered why they couldn't trust others.
She stood and looked at their huts, who could these huts still exist in this 21st century? She thought to herself. She had seen modern houses, she had seen cars, and the city. She had sneaked into the town more than once, studied them wishing she could love freely like them. Wouldn't it be nice living in the city? going to school, dressing like other teenage girls she used to see…
"where have you been?" Stephen asked, snapping her out of her thoughts
"In the woods, hunting," she said as they both walked towards the first hut.
Austin Is a tall white guy with blond hair, he has a slim but strong figure and has been one of Emma's close friends since she was little. Austin is in his fifties but he looks twenty one
They are both like words and opposite; Emma is dark-skinned, a little bit short with curly black hair.
"Your uncle wants to see you," Austin said
"I knew he would, he can't stay an hour without seeing me"
"I think this one is important, Bailey had a dream and you know how witches' dreams are" he gave her a warm look
Emma let out a huge sigh as they both entered the hut
"Uncle," Emma said plainly as she approached
her uncle, little Bailey sat on the bench beside Brian, the oldest vampire in the village. Luther, Peter, and Mia, her other friends leaned against the wall opposite Brian, they all looked troubled.
"What's wrong?" Emma asked with concern and Austin went to sit near Bailey
"Bailey had a dream," her uncle said
"It was more like a vision," Bailey said withfear in her tiny voice
"Hunters are coming," Max, Emma's uncle said, he paused and continued after a second "this time with more numbers"
"They don't know where we are," Emma said as she looked around the room at all of them
"They have a witch, a strong one and they arecoming with wolves this time. The witch has done a locator spell, they know where we are" Bailey said
"This is the reason why we can't trust the
wolves?" Emma said
"Yes" her uncle replied
" But we are stronger?" She said, already panicking, not sure she believed the statement she just made
"Not with vervain, a strong witch, and wolves," Austin said
"We've been digesting vervain little by little all our lives, it wouldn't do much too and we don't even know how soon they they are going to come, what are we gonna-" a deafening
Sound couldn't let Emma finish her sentence they all fell on the ground along with everything in the hut. Their ears started to bleed, Brian had protected Bailey's head with his hand, and he carried her up with difficulty
"Intruders!, intruders!" they could hear the guards shouting
"They are here" Bailey cried.
"They must not see Bailey, Brian take her and you both should hide somewhere safe," Max said
and with that, they all trooped out of the hut
Some guards were on the floor fighting for their lives. Probably due to the wolf's bite and vervain, Emma wanted to scream as she saw her people lying on the ground lifeless, but by this time she was consumed with rage. Within ten seconds twelve hunters and nine wolves were lying on the floor dead, when Emma was about to take her next victim a force swept her from the ground and she landed on an arrow that was in the ground.
She removed the arrow from her heart as she gasped in pain. She looked at who had tried to kill her and there she was, white as paper, red-haired and in a black costume
Elma knew immediately who she was. Before the witch could raise her hands to do a spell. Emma was strangling her already
"You think a little vervain could stop me huh?" She said as the witch fought for her life
"Let her go or I'll kill him" One of the hunters
said as he held his gun to Matthews's head
Emma looked at Matthew who had been injured badly, she didn't let go of the witch who was now almost dead than alive
"No, father!" they all looked back at Bailey as a strong wind took them off their feet
The hunters were dead by now and the ones that survived were on the floor in agony. Bailey was now sitting beside her father crying and asking if he was okay. Peter and Max helped Matthew up and led him to the hut that was still standing
Stephen and Emma stood up slowly still in pain and Emma saw the witch disappear
"No!" She shouted in pain
She ripped the heads of the wolves that were still alive apart from their body and Stephen watched her silently, after she was done, she sat on the floor as tears made their way down her face. she, Austin, and Mia stared at the villagers that were lying on the ground lifeless.
They fed the few people who didn't die from the wolf's bite Matthew's blood and they left them to rest, the vervain was slowing their healing process
They found Brian unconscious, he had been attacked by multiple wolves, he hid Bailey but she came out to call for help
"We are not safe here anymore," Emma said
as she looked at Brian who was still sleeping
"We have nowhere else to go," Max said
"We could go to the city"
"They'll find us easily in the city," Max said and Emma stood up
"We have been hiding in this damned forest for years, I was given birth to this place, my mum lived here and she still died in their hands. We used a huge spell to hide ourselves still they managed to find us
"Your mum went too close to the city" Max retorted
"No matter where we are they won't stop till they get us, I'm going immediately after the burial. I can't keep hiding, I barely have clothes, and I also want to live a normal life"
"I think Emma is right, no matter how we run, they are going to find us. I'll go with her too and Bailey needs to get out here. The witch escaped and she has seen the kind of power she possesses " Stephen added and after a few minutes of silence between them
"How are you going to live in the city, you don't have money, the-"
"I'll compel anyone and everyone to get what I want, you keep forgetting I'm a vampire," she said as she leaned on the wall
"I'll take Bailey, there has to be a witch Somewhere in the city, she has to know how touse her power" Max said and Emma wasrelieved
"Peter, Stephen, and I are going with Stephen and Emma," Mia said.
We have to scatter ourselves and be as safe as we can. Matthew and I are going to be with Bailey immediately the people are completely healed" Max said as he looked at Matthew who gave him an assuring look
