Music hummed through the air.
Melodious. Fulfilling.
A sudden emptiness filled the room when the music stopped, changing to another song.
Rex opened his eyes.
His crimson eyes glowed amid the dim room, and he was greeted by an unfamiliar ceiling.
Though he wanted to move, his body was heavy.
It seemed the pain still lingered, not because his regeneration was not sufficient to heal the wounds, but because of the gradual penalty. On top of bearing the weight of the emerald star, he also needed to endure the internal pain.
One of the main reasons why he was completely crushed and pitiful.
Rex forced himself to sit up, groaning in pain as he supported his body with his arms, and leaned back against the headboard. It was only then he realized that he was on a soft and massive bed. Even if there are two of him stacked vertically and horizontally, the bed would still have room for more.
"System, how long did I pass out?"
Seeing this, Rex sighed in relief.
