Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

"We should go in. Alexa is probably upset I'm taking part of her time with her friend." I smiled at what he said because he was right. Alexa was going to be upset, but I would explain to her.

"Yes, you are right. Let's go in."

Alexa was on the couch, folding her hands and looking upset, which I expected. Sensing our presence, she turned to us. "About time you came! I thought y'all were going to sleep out." I laughed at what she said, though I knew I shouldn't have, but what she said was funny.

"What's funny?" Alexa asked, and she didn't look upset like she was before. I shook my head at her.

"I'll leave you two to each other, and Alexa, I apologize for taking part of your friend's time. It won't happen again," Kyle said, looking at Alexa, then at me, giving me a smile before leaving.

Alexa turned to me with her hands folded and gave me a stern look that creeped me out.

"Okay, okay, I'll tell you what happened. Just don't look at me like that. It's really creepy."

She really did creep me out.

"You better do."

She gestured to the couch for us to sit, so I did, taking a deep breath.

"Do you remember that guy I told you about—the irresponsible father?"

She looked confused. "Yes, I remember. What does that have to do with my brother?"

Taking another deep breath, I said, "Turns out that guy is your brother."

"You are joking, right?"

Well, I wasn't, and I saw no reason to joke around either.

"No, I'm not."

Her expression changed to a disappointed one. "I can't believe something like that happened and he couldn't even tell me about it."

"You shouldn't think like that, Alexa. He has his demons that he is fighting, and I also regret calling him irresponsible. He didn't deserve it."

She nodded and looked down. "You're right. His ex-wife is a huge pain, and he has gone through a lot."

She then smiled. "Now let's forget about this and do what you came here for. I can't wait for you to see *The Notebook*. I honestly can't believe you haven't watched it yet."

I love how she easily changes the atmosphere.

"You say it like it's a crime."

She smiled. "Well, since you are my friend, it should be."

This made both of us burst into fits of laughter.

I honestly can't believe I cried—and that too for *The Notebook*. Not that I haven't cried for movies, but I didn't expect it to be this emotional. I didn't know how I would live knowing my loved one is alive but forgot all about me and my family. I feel bad for Noah.

The only reason I agreed to Alexa telling me to watch *The Notebook* was because of Ryan Gosling, who was my favorite actor and the one I had a huge crush on. I remember that one time I was in middle school, and Ethan asked who my crush was.

"Who is your crush?" he asked for like the fiftieth time that day. I don't know why he kept insisting on knowing.

"I don't want to tell you, okay?"

"Why not?" he asked with a frown on his face.

"And why do you want to know?" I asked him with a glare. He should know by now that I don't want to tell him.

"Please tell me. I promise to keep it a secret," he begged, using his puppy eyes, which he knew I couldn't resist.

"Okay, fine, I'll tell you."

He gave me expectant eyes, which made me roll my eyes. "It's Ryan."

He looked confused. "Ryan who?"

"Ryan Gosling."

He burst out laughing. I didn't get what was funny. He asked me who my crush was, I answered, and now he's laughing?

"Okay, that's a good one. Now be serious. Who is your crush?"

Did he think I was joking or something?

"I'm serious."

From my expression, he knew very well I was serious.

His expression dropped quickly. "You really are serious? How would you have a crush on someone you can only see on TV?"

I don't know myself, but ever since I saw him in *The Believer*, he has forever been engraved in my heart.

Shrugging, I said, "I don't know myself, but I love him a lot. I wish I could meet him just once."

He gave me a look of disgust.

What? A girl can dream, right?

"Who is your crush?" I decided to ask.

He just shrugged. "No one important."

Uh?

"I told you mine, so you have to tell me yours."

He looked at me before shrugging again. He really isn't going to tell me, is he?

"I demand to know! I told you mine, so it's only fair if you tell me yours."

He looked at me, and I knew what he wanted to do.

"Don't you dare shrug at me now. Answer!"

He glared at me before saying, "Okay, it's Catsy."

I had never heard of that name before. Who is Catsy?

"Catsy who?"

He rolled his eyes at me. "You don't know her, okay? And I don't think you ever will anytime soon."

That sentence kept replaying in my mind until the day Ethan confessed to me—and actually, Catsy was me. He just mixed the letters in my name. That was the happiest day of my life.

"Stacy, Stacy, are you okay?"

Oh no, I zoned out again. I looked at Alexa.

"You are crying? Why?" I was even crying, and I told myself to be strong.

I fake laughed. "It's because of the movie."

Alexa looked serious. "I know that's not the reason. Is it because you remembered Ethan?"

Hearing his name made me break down in tears. It's just so hard to believe he is gone forever.

"It's okay," I heard Alexa say. She really is a good person.

"I thought I heard crying. Is everything okay?"

I heard Kyle ask. Alexa fake laughed just like I did.

"It's because of the movie."

I didn't turn to see him so he wouldn't see my face.

"Oh, I see. I was wondering if Edward and I could join you guys. He says he is bored."

Oh no!
