Transcendents of the Human Race were highly vigilant, but not overly worried.
In terms of power, the Alien Race currently held the advantage, yet they too were Transcendents. Should they really fight to the death, a counterattack would leave few of the Alien Race Transcendents alive.
However, each of these Transcendents had high status within their own forces. In an advantageous situation, none showed weakness, but when evenly matched, or at a disadvantage, very few were willing to risk their lives in battle against the Alien Race.
All they wanted was to leave. As long as they weren't besieged by three or more Transcendents of equal level, they could still withdraw at their leisure.
And the Alien Race, holding only a slight advantage, weren't bold enough to press too hard either.
